Tuesday AM. Rabbit bone in Tuesday PM. Pork Riblets bone in
Wednesday AM. Chicken wings or neck Wednesday PM. Heart (chicken)

Monday: Half of a whole rat & 2x day old chicks. Tuesday: Bulmer's duck, 10% organ, 20-25% bone. The rest is muscle meat. Wednesday: 1/4 of a whole rabbit. Thursday: A turkey neck & 3x day old chicks. Friday: Whole sardines. Saturday: Bulmer's premium beef, it's10% bone. The rest is muscle meat. Sunday: Lamb meat chunks and chicken wings.
I portion the rabbit & rat into single ferret size meals, same with the Bulmer's as I only have 1 ferret at the moment.
Treats: JR Pure Kangaroo JR Pure Venison JR Pure Rabbit JR Pure Ostrich (There are other various treats by that company but these are the main ones I use) Stewing beef Minced lamb Pinkie mice Raw egg, with shell
Lickable treats: Salmon oil Domino Moon's dook oil Fluffy Retreat ferret oil Tubifrett salmon paste
Treats I give during clicker training (apart from the egg with shell), and the lickable treats I use while nail clipping.
My ferret was fed on alpha ferret feast before I got her at 8 weeks old from the breeder, she's 8 months old in a few days

Oh yeah I forgot about this thread!!!
I have changed Charlie's menu and have incorporated whole prey and have been doing his new plan for quite some time now!! I removed chicken as he doesn't seem to like it.
Monday AM Turkey (neck or back) Monday PM Beef cubes
Tuesday AM 2 Large Adult Mice Tuesday PM Pork Bone in
Wednesday AM Rabbit Bone in Wednesday PM Heart (beef)
Thursday AM 2 Large Adult Mice Thursday PM Beef Cubes
Friday AM Turkey (neck or back) Friday PM Pork Bone In
Saturday AM 2 Large Adult Mice Saturday PM Liver (1 oz)(beef) / Kidney (1 oz)(beef)
Sunday AM Rabbit Bone In Sunday PM Pork Bone In
*Each meal is a 2 oz serving size. *He also gets 1 whole raw egg scrabbled either on Tuesday, Friday or Sunday when he has 2 bone in meals either at 7, 9 or 12 days apart. *Meats used are turkey, beef, mice, pork, and rabbit. Managed to find quail recently but will only use that occasionally because it's harder to find. Still not sure if he likes it much yet. *Since he has mice 3 times a week, according to the whole prey chart, I was able to remove the 3rd meal of organ (1 oz heart, 1/2 oz liver, 1/2 oz kidney) and was replaced with mice.

Here is mine:
Monday AM - Bone in chicken Monday PM - Whole mice (2-3 each depending on size)
Tuesday AM - Bone in Pork Tuesday PM - Beef muscle
Wednesday AM - Whole adult quail Wednesday PM - Duck or beef Heart with a raw egg each
Thursday AM - Bone in chicken Thursday PM - Whole chicks (2-3 each depending on size)
Friday AM - Bone in Lamb Friday PM - 1/2 Heart, 1/4 Liver, 1/4 other organ(Kidney or lung are favourites)
Saturday AM - Whole mice (2-3 each depending on size) Saturday PM - Beef muscle
Sunday AM - Bone in Chicken Sunday PM - 50:50 Liver and lung
Treats given: Salmon oil (few drops from a dropper bottle), 100% chicken (dried), Dried lung, day old quails, pinkies, day old chicks. Once a week they have a pea size blob of malt paste whilst they have their nails trimmed. I know it's not ideal, but they stay still long enough, have tried salmon oil, but they don't stay still long enough. I intend to get them onto something better this year for nail trimming.
Cheers

Charlie does he eat the pork bones? What kind are they? I know you specifically asked Charlie but I also feed some bone in pork. The pork I feed is a 15% grind I buy in the UK. Our girls wipe their bowls clean when they have pork. Cheers

Charlie does he eat the pork bones? What kind are they? Sherry I get the pork riblets! It's the off cut from the actual pork ribs. They are flatter then the rib and I think it's the end parts of the ribs. I have a meat cleaver and chop it up into much smaller pieces so the bones are actually broken open so he can get some of the marrow too. He actually eats some of the bone, not all but some. There's always a bit left but I'm really surprised at how much he actually eats! He does a really good job eating it! It's one of his favourite meals.

So I posted this in the Diet Transitions but I noticed there hasn’t been anyone active there for a while. So I figured I would try my luck in this thread since I see some people have posted (sorry if this is against rules)
Hello all!
I have started doing the courses on HF as part of the transition from kibble to raw diet. The past couple days I have been giving them the raw soup recipe and my ferrets have been eating it BUT only when I place it on my finger and guide them to the plate. Then I have to stand there as they eat and they will only eat a little. Problem with this is that I am gone for work for about 10 hours and that means they aren’t touching that soup if I’m not there.
What can I do? I don’t want to leave kibble in there because then they won’t ever begin to rely on the soup if they know in the end they will get kibble.
Some background info: I have 4. Two of them are 4 years old: one of which has insulinoma but surprisingly she does eat from the plate better than the rest and the other two are 9 months. I am trying to covert to the Frankenprey model of feeding btw.
Thank you!
