They didn't do much with the head other then make a bloody mess of my tub! Lol I took it out smashed it up pretty well took the eyes out and stuck it in the freezer for a dinner one night. I put the eyes in with the kidney, lungs and teenie tiny spleen it was enough for 3oz of mixed organ mash. I made soups for the organ meals with lung and pancreas in them, I'm hoping this will work this week. I also froze what blood I could from the rabbit. I think I'll try sardine soup for Monday and maybe keep some small pieces in there in hopes they eat them and then I can increase the sizes each time just like I did to transition off soup to begin with. If I get them to eat the sardines and rabbit that will be 6 proteins and I still have not tried pork. I'll throw that in next week with the mice I think.

They ate all of breakfast except 3 pieces that I found stashed yesterday and I hooked 2 chicken wings to the cage last night with the shower curtain hooks for dinner. I don't know if they just weren't very hungry or if they got lazy as most of the wings were still hanging there this morning. I decided to leave them until I get home from my mothers when I will make the sardine soup for them. I figure if they are that hungry they will keep chomping the wings or if they are being lazy and they are hungry then it will be all the better to get the sardines in them. I am also going to do up the other 3 rabbits today just to get it out of the way. Is there anything I should be working towards or do I seem to be on track so far?

So far everything seems great! Is there an area you feel that you need help in more?

Maybe a magic wand to get them to eat the sardines?! Haha I even put some ferretone in it. Missy licked at it for a bit but Sir wouldn't touch it even off the spoon for me. My FN cage came today so my son put it together for me while I finished butchering the rabbits. He did a decent job but I think the 2nd floor bottom is on the wrong way, seems to work though and it's taller then I am! Was fun to get it into the ferrets room. I should have had him do it in there instead of in the living room. I'll give them a few days to see how they do in it and then figure out the best place to put a feeding den. They get hearts tonight so I should be able to tell where they are going to stash now.

I love the FN cages. I have 3. Two of them are attached together for my larger crew.
Hmm.. As for the fishes, do you feed any sort of chunks? You can try chopping them up. Not every ferret likes fish =/ I usually try to not buy a lot of something new until I know they will eat it first lol. Picky little brats, they are truly like 2 year olds.

So actually last week when I tried them they were chopped into an inch chunks and they wanted nothing to do with them, this week I tried soup with much smaller pieces and as soon as the ferretone drops were gone they wouldn't go near it again. The sardines were kind of cheap and I will keep trying until they are gone rather then just wasting them I can't remember if I ordered 2lbs or 4 of them. Lesson learned for sure there though. I will get weights and pics tonight.

They only ate 2 oz of their organ soup today, it was beef pancreas with chicken liver. I gave them there usual 6. Of course they went right for the duck necks when I put them out. Here are there weights for the week, pretty easy they are both 2 lbs. Here are the pics Missy Sir

Too cute! They look good. Sounds like everything is progressing well. Other than the sardines is there any other area I can help you with?

I think I'm good for now. I am going to work on the mice this weekend a bit. They def enjoy the pinkies for snacks so hopefully the transition to mice will be easy.

Yes they are, they left a few pieces of the bones from the duck neck last night but basically ate all 6ozs of them plus a handful of pinkies and when I put out the organ soup this morning they ate some right away also.

Last night along with their 6ozs of duck neck, I put out a handful of pinkies and 1 whole mouse each. I did not weigh the pinkies but the mice are less then an ounce each so I'm thinking it was about an extra oz and a half to possibly 2 oz for them last night. This morning a few bone chunks from the necks were left, pretty much the same as always, the pinkies were gone and the mice have definitely been chomped on (missing the heads and fur from both and in various stages of being eaten otherwise). The rabbit meat I put out this morning was still partially frozen and they sniffed it but that was it. I'm hoping it was just too cold for them and they will eat it later. I left the mice in there, they should be good for 24 hours right?
