I would not add little pieces of bone to soup. They should eat it from the actual piece of bone in meat.
The Bravo i am not sure of. They have different grinds so you may want to email the company and ask which ones are at least 95%meat bone and organ.
If you feed the whole carcass grinds from hare today you should be fine. You do not have to use the ones where they grind up the fur too. Anything with meat/bones/organs is fine.

I am pretty sure Bravo balance is 95% meat/bone/organ. Just email the company to be sure

as i told you on facebook, with frozen raw grinds, i prefer to use Stella & Chewys, Rad Cat and vital essentials. with freeze dried raw, i use Stella & Chewys and Vital Essentials.
I believe that it is very important for ferrets to learn to like freeze dried raw (both in dry form and crumbled and rehydrated). if you ever go on vacation and need someone to take care of your ferrets, they may not know how to (or want to) feed raw meat/bones/organs. but they may be more willing to rehydrate some freeze dried raw for you or even put out some frozen raw grinds out for them. also, if you ever have to board your ferret or leave them overnight at the vets office, you can leave them dry freeze dried raw so that they can eat. vets usually will not agree to feed raw/meat/bones organs, whole prey or even commercial frozen/thawed raw grinds. I left my ferret at vet's office for surgery and I gave her dry stella & chewys beef and lamb (which i ripped into little chunks for my ferret) and she was willing to give him that.

the raw grinds with bone in them come in handy with kits that are not used to eating bone in meats yet, or for ferrets who do not eat ENOUGH of the bone in meats or flat out refuse to eat bone in meats altogether. this ensures that they are getting enough calcium from ground bone.
the downside to commercial raw grinds is that you have to brush their teeth at least 3 x a week to keep teeth and gums clean. I find that the Stella & Chewys beef and lamb canine freeze dried are tougher and more chewy than the poultry formulas so they actually help to keep teeth clean. I rip those up into little chunks and leave in a bowl for my ferret to snack on in between his 2 main meals a day. he does not eat much of it. 2 patties will last him about a week maybe. that is not much at all.

I think it is bc i have fed it to my dog and i really see nothing but meat and ground bone in there. It smells a bit livery. My ferret does not like Bravo.

Still no reply from bravo, which is actually kind of annoying. Would you like me to buy your product? I guess not.
Yes!! I just got back from the store. It is a raw food lovers paradise. All organic and FDR and ground raw goodness! I came home with Stella and Chewy's dandy lamb dinner, Rad Cat containers of chilcken and lamb and Aunt Jeni's Turkey. I don't think we discussed Aunt Jeni's did we? The ingredients sounded good so I made an executive decision.
Bones are still a no go for both. Maybe when we get the new kids, they will be so jealous of the bone in stuff they get that Bella and Clyde will just have to eat it too.

Oooh, bad news on the Bravo balance. I'm glad I didn't buy it. This is the reply I received.
Thank you for taking the time to write with your question. Our Balance formula is approximately 80% meat &bone, 10% organs and 10% vegetables.
Best, The Bravo Team

You can start posting here on the kits too. How are they liking the raw diet at your house?

How is it going Missy? If you post a menu here (break down by am/pm meals) i can look it over and see if it needs tweaking

Sun AM: Rad Cat whole ground lamb Sun PM: chicken wings
Mon AM: chicken wings Mon PM: chicken thigh
Tues AM: rad cat whole ground turkey Tues PM: turkey wings
Wed AM: S & C Lamb patties (add water) Wed PM: pork chunks
Thur AM: pork (like a chop with the bone) Thur PM: rad cat whole ground chicken
Fri AM: Whole ground lamb Fri PM: chicken wing
Sat AM: chicken gizzard and chicken heart Sat PM: S & C duck duck goose (add water)
This is what I can remember from the last week. The babies (Frankie and Teddy) will eat whatever I give. Bella and Clyde, the bone ins are hard for them but that is what I am aiming for. I do add some bone meal powder to Bella and Clyde's non bone in meals because I know they are not eating that much bone.
I know this needs a lot of tweaking because I am not doing liver separately. Is what they get in the whole ground enough?
Please let me know what needs to be changed.

Oh and they get couple of quail eggs a week each. I will usually add it to the whole ground.
