Okay But try to let me know how she does with a plate instead of a bowl, in case we need to take a different tactic

She's getting better. I'm using a small plate to put the mixture on. Slowly but surely.

She should progress faster with a plate So- do you feel ready to graduate from this program? You seem to know what you are doing, at least with commercial raw, and how to transition any others!

Yeah, I'm feeling pretty confident & you've given me plenty of tricks to use. Not to mention, I know I can always ask for help here if need be.

Okay- in that case, I need you to write up a formal menu of what they are getting, Monday- Sunday format and then Heather will come in and graduate you I know you are feeding CR, but as long as the requisite number of proteins are there and not TOO much reliance on just one it's all good

Okay, I should have some time tomorrow to do that since I'll be in between finals.

Twice a day: combo BARF patty (which includes chicken, beef, pork & lamb). Three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday) I add Taurine powder to ensure the appropriate nutrition is received.
During the day (in between the BARF patty), since I have a couple of insulinoma ferts I leave a mixture of two or three of the following: Ziwipeak Cat Venison & Fish, Ziwipeak Cat Lamb, S&C Turkey, S&C Duck & Goose, S&C Lamb patty, S&C Beef patty, Pheasant Dream treats.
I also have on order Wysong Au Jus variety pack which includes chicken, beef, venison, duck, rabbit & turkey.
I really don't have a set schedule when it comes to the mixture that I leave for the older ferts. I just mix & match as I see fit.
Is this acceptable or close to what you were looking for?

Just for my information in the future...do these patties have all these meats in them or are they a package of assorted protein patties? Years ago, I used to buy BARF patties, each was an individual protein that included everything including fur. Are these the same product? or similar? ciao

They are all combined into one patty. It does include bone in the patty as well. Here is a list of the proteins & animal product in each of the combination patty: Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Finely Ground Beef / Pork Bone, Beef Liver, Pork Trim, Beef Kidney, Egg.

I'm pretty sure of it, but have to ask- the BARF patties also have organ and heart, correct? What is the brand name? I'm sure I asked before, but can't find it right now.

It is BARFworld.com. I do have some ground up chicken gizzards & hearts as well as a carton of chicken livers I need to grind up. They only report beef kidney & beef liver in the combo patty. So I have been adding gizzards & heart (I should have mentioned that, my bad). I just need to thaw the livers & grind them up.

Definitely need to add a minimum of one heart meal a week, or the equivalent ground and mixed in the daily meals. And gizzards are muscle meat The liver/kidney *should* be good, but you can add a bit more as long as stools stay good and not blackish. Only 5% fiber, so the same as most commercial raws out there

I thought heart was mainly used for it's high taurine content? Which is why I add taurine three times a week to their mixture. Are there more benefits? I'm gonna do some searching for a butcher in my area to see if they have heart. Not to mention, my husband hunts (& has hunting buddies) so once he gets back from his deployment & goes hunting again, I'll have those. In the meantime, I can ask his hunting buddies for heart too if they don't need it or get multiple kills.

Taurine is the big one, yes. I know there are also micronutrients, but honestly can't rennet what they are now. While taurine powder will suffice, raw heart is much better. If you can't get it, dosage for taurine would be a 500 mg capsule per ferret per day.
