A report on the vet visit 8-11-2015:
* Kiki is healthy. She is just fluffy at 2lbs 5 oz and not used to being examined.
* Darla has an upper respiratory infection but nicely her lungs are clear. She is on a seven day course of antibiotics.
* Clio was dehydrated and anemic. She declined to have her blood drawn. We will do subq fluids and an iron supplement for a week. Then we will try to draw blood next week when she is feeling better.
* Blue appears to be feeling the effects of his adrenal disease. So we have gone ahead and placed the order for implants. If it looks like it will take awhile for them to arrive we will find a lupron shot for him. Blue has a growth on his skin that we will be watching closely.
* Our beautiful baby Jeffery has a heart murmur and is retaining fluids. We will be traveling to Birmingham for an echocardiogram soon.

Yes she was so upset the vet was concerned about over-stressing her. Yes it is very sad about Jeffery but he is now a resident of the rescue so we are guaranteed a lot of adorable pictures while he is with us.

Sweet Jeffrey, I will wish on Ponce's star for him. You made me very happy when you decided that Jeffrey had found his forever home. I'm glad everyone was looked over and you know what you will be dealing with. Once again, my profound respect for your work. You have a big heart and I so admire you. Meds, ultrasounds, damage other organs, possibly cause the need for a O2 chamber. It would be hard to find a qualified home for him. So he is now a Boggle member. We still have 8 ferrets needing homes Two sets of raw feeding pairs and a set of 4 males all under two.

The four boys are out of quarantine and in the house. They were being feed a terrible kibble and it shows. All are about a year & half old. Paperwork & teeth confirm age. They look like 3-4 year old ferrets in appearance & body condition. (headwall)

We have registered for the Giving Tree this year and should be able to put up profiles soon. We also have a wish list on Amazon www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3N5E64LPZJOKD/ref=cm_wl_list_o_1?Over all the Boggle is doing well. I think Blue will leave us soon as he really misses Cocoa & Darla. Mostly I find him sleeping alone and he doesn't play much.

This has been a busy week. Monday I replaced more wheels and connected two of the double FNs. I hope to add a third story to it soon but I may need a few more parts. The ferrets played without incident while I washed & put the cages together. All of them seemed happy with the results. A week long visit from the Peterson boys ended Wednesday when I returned them to Bill. I really enjoy having the boys over and their boarding fees helped out a lot on Thursday. As I took the Bobble-head boys(Gus, Theo, Mayo & Barnaby) out to play it was obvious that Gus was unwell. I started blockage protocol but nothing helped. Gus was seen by Dr Warren Thursday afternoon where he was promptly taken back for surgery. We were not sure he would make it through the surgery. He spent all day Thursday and Friday at the vet. He came home with me Thursday night. He is recovering slowly but surely. If all goes well he will be removed from critical status on Tuesday. The vet's office is 66 miles one way from our house. So I was unable to come home while Gus was at the vet. Needless to say The Boggle was not happy about this. Since I had to leave earlier than usual on Wednesday, there was a lot of work to catch up on Saturday. Due to all of this they had experienced a lot more cage time than they are used to having. The Boggle put on a impressive protest poo campaign to express their displeasure. Despite having all day to play and having a new ferret lover come to visit, they were very quiet today. It was a bit unnerving and I will be watching them closely to make sure everything is ok.

It has been awhile since I have updated here. Since the last post Gus and Fifi have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The humane society we pick up from has sent us three ferrets in less than two months. Trixie has come down with insulinoma really hard. She is on a high dose of pred and her bg is still low. The rest of The Boggle are doing well.
