Glad Darla is improving. Cocoa will be in my thoughts, sounds like she could do with some positive vibes for good health. Hope the pred helps Clio and the the whole business does well, requiring no further vet visits for a while.

Hope the pred helps Clio and the the whole business does well, requiring no further vet visits for a while. Thank you Theresa. Four more will have to have deslorelin implants. Then we are going to microchip everyone and do the state required vaccinations. There have been several incidents lately where people have taken ferrets and without the microchips you have no proof of ownership that authorities will recognized.

While I have issues about the whole micro-chip pets thing (think it encourages people to see them as objects, you scan your groceries not your family), I do get all my ferrets micro-chipped. It ups the chance of them coming home if they do an escape act, and for that I ignore everything else I feel about micro-chips.
Hope all goes well with the implants, micro-chipping and vax

Thank you for the good thoughts.

Cocoa is doing well after scaring me half to death by displaying all of the signs of renal failure. She goes in tomorrow to have her teeth cleaned. The cleaning makes me a bit nervous. She is 6 yrs old adrenal, insulinoma & gets small mass cell tumors but compared to her peers here she feels stronger & healthier than them. I think I've figured out how her teeth became an issue. I believe I've been feeding them too much soup with their medicine too close to meals which caused her to only eat soup. That caused to the small amount of tarter on her teeth to grow into an issue instead of continuing to be removed by her eating bone. They are all a bit annoyed about being dragged out of bed "early" which means before 9am.
On a lighter note both Trixie & Darla have managed to scare us half to death. Life with deafies can be interesting. Each time one of them has had a bit of a sneezing fit while sneezing they begin to scream. A scream much like a seizure scream which of course sends us flying in to check on them. The scenario ends with us receiving the classic "WTF MOM?" look.

Cocoa did fine with her cleaning despite needing extra sedation to get her to relax her jaw muscles enough for them to clean her teeth.

So far Ava has not responded to her last shot of dex. If we don't see any improvement in the next week or so it will be time to start her bucket list.

Ava's lymph nods went down a bit for a week and are already beginning to enlarge again. So I will be starting her bucket list thread later today
