Do you have any tubes? I bought 4 ten feet long sections of black drainage pipe for about $42. Mine love them and chase them each other up and down.
You could open the all the drawers of a small dresser (ferret proof it) and throw a blanket over it.
Take an empty soda bottle and fill it with something that makes noise. Like pennies or something and let Sophia push it around.
You can make a dig box for her. Fill it with leaves, rice, dried beans, sand and rocks.
Find a big shallow plastic bin, fill it with water and drop some pieces of gizzards or chicken in it and let her Fish.
Get a Teaser toy (for cats) and wiggle it around and let her chase it.

I have one with dried beans and she won't get in it! I don't get it. She likes the one with dirt tho. I have teasers galore! Our newest thing is bouncing a whole box two at a time of ping pong balls across the bathroom floor, she seems to like chasing them. She has tubes. Think i am going to get some more. I am going to get her some leaves to play in as well. Do u think she will go fishing if she doesn't really play in water? I am trying to get her to like it. She doesn't bother with the dresser much. I usually have a few drawers open for her. Maybe if there were clothes in it she would go for it! Thanks

I read I thought it was on this site that Mucinex severe congestion and cough was ok for ferrets for colds. Active Ingred: Dextromethorphan, Guaifenesin,Phenylephrine. Inactive ingred: anhydrous, citric acid, edetate disodium,fd&c blue#1,red#40,flavors,glycerin,propylene,glycol,propyl gallate, purified water, sodium benzoate, sorbitol, sucralose, trisodium citrate, dihydrate, xanthan gum. I got it just in case she gets a cold but need to know if it is the right one. Robitussin DM is the other I read is good. I just wanna double check and be on the same page as you and my vet. If she gets a cold I will call the vet. If the vet says give her x amount of Robitussin DM or the mucinex I am already prepared. SHe is not eating the beef I am guessing she doesn't like it because of the beef liver :/ so tomorrow I am going to make a batch with lamb cuz I found lamb at Weis YAY! I guess I am going to put chicken liver in it cuz I have so much of it and beef heart and we'll see if she eats it. She seems to be a little picky.

I was reading about the scent bucket on the enrichment page about how each toy has a different smell of herbs etc. What kind of herbs are ok for them to smell?

Sophia was eating the lamb and stopped. She did not eat it all day yesterday. I don't understand why she would eat it one day and not the next. Today when she gets back up I am doing something different. I have oxtail, lamb, and chicken for her to choose from all made with chicken hearts and livers cuz i have so many right now. I am going to see even tho I assume which one she is going to go for. Btw Sophia now has a big underbed container of playsand and 20ft of tubes And all I need are the scents for the scent bucket and maybe a few more plastic toys. I will get those tomorrow. I am so looking forward to it She was sooo happy she was dookin when I put the sand in like she already knew what it was and that made my day So anyway what do u do when she won't eat or attempt to try her new meat? She even puts up a fight when I attempt to spoonfeed her.

Its great you are offering different proteins. But ferrets will manipulate you into giving them their favorite. You may be encouraging this behavior by switching out the food for something different after the refusal of eating it. I will let the food stay in my cage for about 2 days before I remove it. You will be amazed what they will eat after they skip a meal or two.
If you are still making soup you may want to stick with one protein for a week or two at a time before trying something new, also when introducing a new protein you may have to go back to the scruff and stuff and spoon feeding again.

You have to be careful, especially with anything that has Acetaminophen in it. I'm bumping this Thread, to get some Senior Ferrents to see this and comment on whether this product is safe.

Sophia sounds like she just had a really fun filled day. That's great. I love to watch them get all happy and play. msav is right about switching proteins. Ferrets kind of need to get used to new foods and sometimes they best way is to keep feeding the same protein for a few days in a row. If she ate alot of the Lamb, she might simply have been full. We tend to feed twice a day, but that's not always necessary. A grown female only eats about 2oz a day. That's not alot of food. So, if she ate 2oz or even more than she might not be hungry again for the next meal.

Well today I gave her chicken since she hadn't eaten much yesterday since it is her favorite and she devoured it, and wanted more, she ate like she hadn't eaten in a day! I also gave her some turkey to try and she loved it! She atte at least 3oz! Are u supposed to add taurine if u are giving her turkey or something other than chicken? I started freakin cuz first thing i thought is she has a blockage or something. If she did not eat tonight I was ready to call the vet cuz let me tell u this li'l girl can eat! She eats 2tsp usually about 3-4xs a day! She lost a little weight I think. It was 2.25 pounds. I could barely get a reading cuz she is such a squirmy li'l girl.

Btw acetaminophen was not listed in the ingred for Mucinex. They don't really get colds well that is good. Thanks for letting me know.

I am going to stick with one protein for a week from now on. I just wanted her to try it so that I had an idea of what to get her next. I didn't not check to see how much I had at the time. It is much easier tho. I am still having trouble with finding different things to do. I am going to order her a handmade den and some handmade toys. She now does not play with any of her cat teasers even tho I rotate them every week. I just got her a dig box and she plays in that like once a day or so. She likes my pj drawer with my fleece pants etc. She does not seem interested in what people think she is. I tried the box maze and she got in it for a day then I ended up throwing the boxes away. She does like dark secluded places, she also likes play n squeak mice, and loofas. She likes walks too and chase. That is all that I know of. I am gonna try the fishing thing. It was cold past couple days.
