Anyone know how to persuade your man into letting you get a friend for your ferret? He thinks it is going to bring problems cuz mine is so well behaved. How do I convince him he is wrong?

he may be right. all it takes it one trouble maker and then you would have 2 trouble makers.

He can deal with Sophia so what is the big deal about one more. Just one not 3. Do I beg him to take me to a shelter and make him feel sorry for them. Maybe then think he will let me get one?

How long is it gonna be until Sophia is awake longer. She is still up once in the morn for an hr, sometimes in the afternoon around 3:30-4 or 5 for an hr, then asleep until 7:30,then up for an hr and down for the night.

Ferrets sleep alot. An only ferret will sleep more, they tend to get bored quickly. I wish your boyfriend would consider a friend for Sophia. When my husband said "No More", we popped into a Petco and Wynstan (my fifth) fell in Love with Paul. Paul just couldn't say No and Wynstan came home with us. He's still a Daddy's boy.
Ferrets are most active in the early morning and early evening. Mine are free roam and I know from middle of the night visits, that they seem to like to play around 3 a.m. Apparently, that's toe biting time. They wake me up early in the morning, galloping up and down the halls. Then they have breakfast and play for about 45 minutes. Then its nap time and around 3p.m. or so, they all wander down at some point for a quick exploration and maybe a snack. If the house is busy or I'm trying to get something done, then everyone is involved and "helping". They all get up around 6p.m., have dinner and play for awhile. By 9p.m. everyone has gone to bed.

omg me too I don't want her to die early because she is getting too bored. I am doing my best with getting new toys about every 3-4 weeks. He thinks that I am asking for more for me and he does not listen to anything I say when I tell him it is for her she is bored tell the landlord and get it the f over with cuz we know he is not going to care cuz he loves animals. I am tired of hiding her. I need someone else to intervene like maybe the vet and be on my side. Give him the fear of death if he does not let me get another one cuz she is bored. I am good but not a ferret!

An only ferret can be happy. It's just that you have to make sure that she gets alot of attention and playtime. My first ferret was an only ferret. I was home with him, all day and he was free roam. We have alot of ferrents who only have the one ferret. It's just that while you have friends and can get out and about, Sophia only has you and that means you need to give her alot of play time and attention.
After Ponce crossed, I brought home a bonded pair and you could see how much fun that they have playing together and sleeping together. Like you said, you can't play ferret games with her, but you can play alot of ways and you can give her alot of out of cage time to explore. Carry her around with you, show her things, run the sink water and let her watch.
Sophia isn't likely to play with a toy by herself. You can tie a string on ball and pull it and she will chase it. Or get a teaser toy and waggle it at her. My two youngest girls will play with a ball and roll it around the floor a little or push a little cup, but ferrets are more about chase play and exploring, then sitting and playing with a toy.
I got your message that you couldn't find your thread. When you sign on, go to New topics. You last posted 16 hours ago, so your thread moves down the pages as other ferrents post or create threads. If you can't find your thread on page one of New Topics, go to page two or three. Look at the right hand side of the page, and you will see who posted to each thread and when they posted.
