Seems good. Now, how are you feeling re: their progress on the diet (I bring this up b/c you have them at a point, from the info I have, where you COULD graduate. I'd just need a finalized menu to review)? If you're not ready, that's perfectly okay, but if you are, that's great too.
edited b/c grammar skillz. i haz them.

I'm perfectly happy with their progress with the diet and everything - I guess I had it quite easy compared to others because they were already on a sort of raw diet I've seen the changes in them since the switch and it's awesome!! No ones been sick since and we've had a few throwing up scares (The same twin, we had her checked and the vet thinks she eats too fast and then it comes back up?) Apart from the availability and quantity I think everything is going swimmingly

So, did you want to work on finalizing a menu, so I can send it off to Heather for review. I know their sources change somewhat, but if you can devise an overall menu, in the format we've been using, that'd be great (use your standard protein sources, and at the end you can list your occasional meats that you'll use when you can get a hold of them). Just remember the key requirements: 3 protein sources (try to use all equally where possible), 2 organs, 2 meals of hearts, 8/9 bone in meals.

I'll work on that now! Sorry I haven't updated, I've been super swamped with school just starting up again on Monday and my timetable is really nuts! I'll update when I get home tonight and am on my computer Gomez seems to be getting rat tail again though unfortunately...

I totally understand, thanks for updating me!
Poor Gomez! I do hate that, when things interfere with their beautiful coats :C

Sorry for the MIA! I've set a reminder in my phone to update when I get to school - juggling school hours, homework, house work, ferret work and a new long distance relationship is harder than I anticipated!

That's fine! (I completely understand and am guilty of the same thing!) How is everyone doing? What've they been eating and is your menu coming together?

Everyone is ok at the moment! We've been feeding them the same as the last update almost to the T just because it's easier for me at the moment!
I haven't had much time to work on the menu continuously but I was thinking something like
Beef liver/chicken necks Pork hearts/chicken carcass Beef mince meat/ox tail Pork tail/pork liver Beef heart/chicken necks Chicken carcass/necks Beef mince/pork heart
I still wanna work out some more proteins but that's just a rough layout so far

Okay, I'm counting 7 bone in meals. Ideally, we'd look for at least 8 (unless there were issues with constipation, etc with more than 7). I like the variety in liver, as well, but how are we doing with kidney?

There are only seven! Sorry I thought I had 8, my bad. Kidney is still being worked on, they don't take it most of the time and just flat out ignore it. Liver and heart seem to be what I can get down them at the moment! I'm still trying through

Liver's better than nothing! These guys are stubborn, doubt about it

Ok so I dropped a mince meat meal and added another bone meal, so that should be 8 bone, 3 heart, 1 muscle meat and 2 organ? At least I think it is.. Beef liver/chicken necks Pork hearts/chicken carcass Chicken feet/ox tail Pork tail/pork liver Beef heart/chicken necks Chicken carcass/necks Beef mince/pork heart I think I'll swap liver and kidney weekly so they get both fortnightly Sorry for the MIA again, school is super busy plus travel time. When I get home I'm so pooped I just crash most of the time! Everyone is A-OK though - for convenience I've been keeping the menu almost identical to previous updates, the next few weeks they will be getting veal instead of beef mince though and my student pay goes up next month so I'll be able to afford some more expensive foods for them

That's okay, life caught up to me too, so no worries, I completely understand. I'm glad to hear everyone's okay, though, and doing well.
The menu does have have 8 bone in meals, and switching off organ for now sounds fine, too. Is this your "final" menu (or, should I ask: is this the one you want me to send in for review for graduation?)

I think so, yes! I'll be switching the organs at least until I can get them to eat kidney on its own.. Or I could try just mixing the two together in one meal and that way they get four meals in one week? What do you think?

It's totally up to you, as long as you don't exceed the 2 oz liver/2 oz other organ per ferret per week rule
