Name: Yossarian
1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
Varrious websites and Ferrets for Dummies
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to.
I want to switch completely to raw. No whole prey yet, my vegetarianism can't handle that.
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
It's healthier for them. All the crap in kibble doesn't sit right with me.
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Are you willing to make the commitment? Yes. I'm well prepared to take on this commitment.
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? How long have you had each ferret for?
Two, five year old, males Blake and Huck. Dental problems but nothing that prevents them from eating. Blake is approx. Two pounds. Huck is approx. Three pounds. I have had both boys since September 15 th 2011.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets?
Kibble mix I received from their shelter. I'm currently mixing in Zupreem, 8 in 1 ultra, and Drs Forsters and Smith diet. They willingly eat chicken and turkey Breechnut baby food. Beef baby food will be introduced next week.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? No.
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
I have been a pescotarian for over five years and understand the importance of a complete diet.
My boy Blake is my lazy old man for the most part, he enjoys his sleep and likes to explore. He even willingly goes to the bathroom in the litter box inside his cage.
Huck is my grumpy old man and resident nipper. He's definitely the more intelligent of the two. If he wants it he finds a way to get it. If it isn't a litter box he'll make it one. He enjoys his sleep and harassing female ferrets.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer? I have commuter access all day every day for the most part unless I choose to unplug for a while.
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
