Had to post! Went to check in on the little brats and looked in the food bowl and there was bites gone! So they ate some of it, about a third is gone. Wooo. I'm not sure who ate it though. But someone got hungry enough to eat some. Gonna go try the squash now.

Woo! That's great! I find that hunger is the best encouragement ;D
You'll probably be able to tell by the stools. Someone will have different stools than the other ;D

Ok not a lot of reaction from the squash. They tasted it politely and moved on. I cleaned out the leftover beef as it'd been sitting out all day and grabbed one of the chicken wings. I'll admit I smeared it with a little olive oil that I had in a teaspoon for treats.
But Cyrano is going crazy for it. I have some cute pictures I'll put up later. He was dragging it all over the room so I used a metal shower hook and attached it to the cage. He's having a ball grabbing at it and pulling it back and forth. He'll stop and play for a few seconds then go back to worrying at it. I did see him pull off a little piece and chew on it.
Draco is having far more fun bugging me. And just being a brat in general right now. And trying to help type. He sniffed at it a few times though so I suppose that's something.

They have abandoned eating right now and are just playing but I'll put the meat up in their cage over night.
Oh the chicken we bought was a whole one and includes the neck, and I think the organs are lungs, liver, and heart. Those are all good right?
And I'm glad I like food network as much as I do. Had no problem cutting it into parts. Plus I got to boil down the bones and little bits of meat for soup stock.

I only buy whole chickens. I think it's better to feed variety of bone parts vs. just wings or necks. I chop it up, section it into baggies, and freeze for later.
Plus you get more for your money. I can get whole chickens for $0.80 cents a lb!

That's a good deal. I think the one we bought was $1.10 a lb. I thought you might enjoy these pictures.

Poked my head in, Cyrano is still noming away. Haven't seen Draco eat anything yet. Don't know if he's not interested or not feeling well. How long is it safe for him to go with out eating?

That's great! Give him a big hug for me As for time between feedings, a healthy adult ferret can go up to 12 hours. However, babies like yours need food more consistently, so I'd say maybe 4-6 hours between food.

So hubby informed me that the whole chicken wing was gone this morning when he went into play with them. Yay! I'm going to smash up the other in just a little bit and give it to them.
He also said Draco pooped, and if he's pooping he's eating right? I mean we haven't actually seen him eat but Cyrano couldn't have finished the whole wing himself could he?

I take back my concern. Just smashed and put up another wing, no oil or anything to tempt them and they both went for it fast!
Draco too! He was right up in there chewing away! The little stinker.

I'm going to give them a half a chicken breast either later this afternoon or this evening depending on how long the wing lasts. The other half will be for breakfast. And maybe the chicken neck tomorrow night with or without the organs?

Woo!!! What good boys!! this makes things a lot easier When you give the chicken breast, you can try it as a whole chunk, with slashes in the meat. Or you can chop it up into slivers for them to eat.

Yeah, definitely give the organs a shot. Some don't like organ meats at all, but hopefully they aren't too picky
