Sounds like the larger pieces will work! They get to spend energy tussling over food. You can always cut it in half but if they are like mine, one piece is always BETTER! Such toddlers that way.

I guess the bigger chunks are going alright, but at least 1 of the chunks always ends up in the water bowl.. Also they don't seem to be into the spleen still maybe I should try a different (other) organ or maybe I make a spleen gravy? They had a bit leftover from Friday so i'm leaving that overnight again with their PM meal 2.2oz duck neck. I also accidentally gave them to much heart in their Friday meal.

A bit of a mix-up with the amounts of meat is ok. Sometimes it happens. The balance of loose stool is really where it might cause you heart ache! The spleen might make a good gravy, especially if they seem to be letting it go to waste. Are they enjoying the rabbit more now?

I'm not sure they do eat rabbit but there's always more left over than their other bone in meals. I'll also update their meals later today, just got a little busy.

Sizes seem to be going well. I've mostly only been having to cut things in half. Like the quail and rabbit so that they both have their "own". Whole hearts, necks, liver. Still slivers of The pork kidney and spleen since they are still getting used to it. They didnt eat much their last organ meal. I'm running low on food so I might head to the market today or some time this weekend and pick up some more veriety. Going to get turkey gizzards, maybe see if they have some beef parts I could use. Re up on the quail and rabbit as well. No vomiting since my last report. They still seem to be stashing even the big chuncks. I watched akira drag half a quail body into a corner the other day only moments after I put it out.

I think you are ready to answer some questions and post a diet to become officially a raw feeder on here! Here are your questions: 1. How long does each type of meat generally stay good: raw soup, ground meat, med-large chunks, bone-in meats, whole prey? 2. List 3 organs aside from liver. 3. What are some good emergency taurine sources if you run out of heart? 4. How can you tell if your ferret is getting too much or too little bone? 5. What counts as a "different protein source?" Add your weekly diet for the girls and I will have our official (Heather) approve it!

I re-uped on some usual and in addition I got Turkey gizzards which they will probably like, and beef liver which they have had before. I also blended up the pork spleen into a gravy to see if they will eat it because they haven been so far mostly just leaving it all over their cage. AM meal: rabbit (Wednesday) 1. 1. How long does each type of meat generally stay good: raw soup, ground meat, med-large chunks, bone-in meats, whole prey? Soup: 8-10 hours Grinds: 10-12 hours Chunks/Bone in: 12-24 hours Whole prey: 24-48 hours
2. List 3 organs aside from liver. Kidney, Spleen, brain
3. What are some good emergency taurine sources if you run out of heart? Tongue and taurine powder
4. How can you tell if your ferret is getting too much or too little bone? Too little and their poop will be runny, too much and the poop will become too dry and could lead to constipation.
5. What counts as a "different protein source?" Meat coming from a different variety of animal. Pork, beef, chicken, turkey, rabbit are different examples of Protein sources.
Menu Per Ferret:
Sunday AM: 2oz Chicken Neck PM: 1oz Beef Liver, 1oz Pork Kidney
