I still don't have confirmation if Usagi is eating bone yet, and they didn't eat much this afternoon in general not sure if it was because I stopped soup or if they were PO'd from me washing their bedding today, my guess is the latter. I'm leaving out the old food and putting out a little fresh food as well, because they still seem interested in it. I didn't count up their left overs exactly but there's about 2 thin slivers of chicken heart, 2 thin slivers of chicken liver, 8 green bean size slivers of pork, 6 chicken neck chunks (2 necks cut into 6), and no soup just a little water. All ends up to be 3.5oz, old food in one bowl, new food in another.
1. Ferret's name: Akira 2. Ferret's weight: 3. Ferret's Daily Medications: None 4. Ferret has eaten 5 oz combined raw including 7 thin slivers of chicken heart, 3 thin slivers of chicken liver, 12 thin french fry slivers of pork, 1 chunks of a chicken neck (out of 4), 4 chunks of a chicken wing (out of 4) with soup (about 2.5 oz per ferret) 5. Stools are slightly wet 6. Activity levels: normal play day 7. Weekly menu:
Monday: thin slivers of chicken heart, thin slivers of chicken liver, thin french fry size slivers of pork, chicken neck, chicken wing wingette

They can be hit and miss on eating. My two have been varying between 2 to 4 ounces a feeding but it is summer and extremely hot this year. One morning I will find it all gone and another it will be just a little over 1/2 gone (I mostly feed 4 ounces each feeding). I also had one boy I wondered if he was eating the bone. I worried a bit but decided that his weight and poo would really tell. I do know he chews on it, now that I have caught him in the act. But to make sure he was getting bone I added grinds of meat and bone to their meals. That way I knew he was getting some as he would eat grinds. Let's just wait and see how it goes before we get too concerned. You are still on the switching phase. It seems like forever but you will look back and realize it was only a small part of a year to switch. Especially at the rate your two are going!
Don't worry about needing to still use soup. We want them to continue eating so if you think that is the barrier try adding some really watered down soup on top of the meat.
Your menu looks good for type of meat (bone, muscle, organ). Now we need to look at variety. We try to aim for at least three different meats a week (example: rabbit, duck, beef). Keep trying different ones in the meals like you have been (right now you have done chicken and pork) and lets see if we can get a few more types of meat eaten.

I think they were just miffed over the bedding being taken away for wash. I know Akira is eating the bones I just haven't been able to catch Usagi in the act, maybe I should add some bone meal to the mix if things become concerning. I was thinking the chicken neck, pork kidney, beef liver, and turkey gizzard would be the variety, is that not quiet how it works?
- I just saw Usagi try to stash a chicken neck maybe she does eat them.

They didn't eat much this afternoon, and then Akira also started throwing up tonight , she seems back to her normal self though running about and maybe 20 minutes after she started eating a chicken neck, maybe she had hair in her throat? I don't think it was the food because Usagi ate the same stuff and she's fine, and from this afternoon they only ate pork and I just bought that today. She also came rushing to check out the new food as soon as I put their food out for tonight as she always does. They don't seem to like/want the steak they havn't touched any of it, maybe I should turn it into a soup? They also didn't eat much last night either. Seems like they only ate the pork and there was a sliver of that left over still. I tossed it all and made them fresh bowls of food for this afternoon. Akria seems to be doing well also.
This afternoon: 4 thin french fry slivers of chicken heart, 2 thin french fry slivers of chicken liver, 4 AA battery sized sized slivers of pork, 1 chicken neck (cut into 4 chunks), 4 thin slivers of steak. Ends up to be 4 oz (Split into 2 bowls with even amounts)

Steak is a strong flavored meat. Some love it and then others can't stand it. Soup can help as well as topping it with soup. Keep trying them on different meats as we want them as flexible as they will allow. Chicken is often the 'go-to' meat but it is also sometimes one that can be an allergy to ferrets. We will keep adding different meats, as you have been doing, to make sure they don't always have chicken.
Looks like your work with bone is going very well!

Well they ate some steak I think but they didn't eat really anything this afternoon again, i'm going to bring back the soup and see if that helps, I hope that's not teaching them if they don't eat they get soup though? I lost track of what they exactly ate today not much in general though. I'm just going to put soup over their afternoon food as they really didn't eat anything and when I leave out old with new they usually eat the old and leave the new for whatever reason. And then I guess i'm continue with soup again after that, i'll try to weigh them tomorrow as well. I assume they will both be thinner at this rate.

Mine happen to be the same way. I put the leftover morning food in one bowl on the bottom shelf and the two new bowls of food in the feeding dens. The new food is usually cold as it comes out of the refrigerator. I think that might be why for mine. Maybe the same for you?
Again, not eating isn't bad. If the weight isn't dropping then we are fine. That's when a good baseline of weight really helps.
No, adding soup and wetting the meat isn't bad. Soup in and of itself is still good to have every once in a while so if they get sick they still see it as food.

Yeah that does make sense but good news it has been confirmed that Usagi is eating bone, and they ate some steak. I gave them soup yesterday but tonight I gave them more water with their food than usual so i'm curious to see how that goes they seem eager to eat tonight as they both ran off with meat in their mouth as soon as I put it down.
Busy day so food wasn't really kept track of exactly what they ate. I'll try to add photos tomorrow but I did get their weights.

They seem to have eaten everything last night I do know they stashed nearly their whole first bowl before I even closed the door for bed tome but they have been nomming throughout the day and I didn't really see anything on my walk arounds so i'm going to assume most if not all of it still got eaten. I will be doing same serving amount this afternoon as last night. I also cut their chicken neck into 2 halves instead of 4 chunks.

empty bowls from last night, they both nommed on some stashed necks before I brought out their afternoon food, afternoon is going to be the same amount as last night. I'm thinking sometime in this upcoming week/end i'll run down to the asian market and pick up some new organs to try. Is tongue a good meal for them, I remember seeing some duck tongues there.
