i got all my livers quite awhile ago, should i be okay? or should i throw them out and get some more? Since this has been going on for a long time, I'd say yes Kind of makes me wonder now about all those fuzzums who are ill with undiagnosed sicknesses.

Almost anything and everything? Antibiotics, chemicals to make the meat "prettier", hormones, herbivores being fed meat in pellet form.....

is it just the livers we should be worried about? What about chicken breast, necks, wings, hearts, etc?

From what I was reading, it concentrates and is converted to the more toxic form of arsenic in the liver itself, so the rest should be fine. Just double checked the article- I lied. They tested the livers. It's the entire chicken that is affected! Although it's said there are no "real" health risks for people, fuzzums have tinier bodies. Now, I've fed chicken since day one, and seen no ill effects, but I honestly don't know if, since arsenic is NOT excreted by the body, and does have a cumulative effect, just what the dangers could be.

The fact that our food supply is tainted with all this random stuff is frustrating. The store only had Tyson, wondering if I should use a vitamin supplement for now?

Vitamin supplements won't touch arsenic. We *could* be overreacting. But honestly? I don't know. I DO know I'm not feeding any more chicken from the store, or at least not on a regular basis.

Is it only chickens that get this drug? Not turkeys, ducks, etc?

90% are chicken. The other 10% is turkey and swine. So it's a toss up as to which producers are using it for the turkey and swine.

I would assume this could be an issue too with ANY commercial diet (including commercial raw or freeze-dried) seeing as we don't know their ingredient sources. Just a thought.

Would organic sources be fine? I'm assuming organic food sources are not being injected with this drug. My store sells their own organic meats. Guess I'll have to call and find out some sourcing info. This might be a warning to stop buying from Asian/ethnic markets where sources are not known. (Actually, this applies to any meat where the source isn't known.) They might be cheap and have variety, but who knows where comes from. Translation is usually an issue at our Asian stores, so I think I'll just stop buying there

The article says organic meats are fine. I do hope we are all just overreacting here

I hope the FDA bans this drug so we can all stop worrying about our fuzzies (and human) food sources D:
