As long as it's not hard she should be fine. If you get over worried about her not going try this:
X.x oh gosh, I totally spaced that. You are probably right and they are more or less picking out the soup first and leaving more chunks.

Thanks for that link! I'll use that Hey with her being so young, do you think I could start her straight off on raw and skip kibble completely? (Not now but when she starts with solid food). As a side note, how often should I feed her? Online says 3x daily, every six hours, every 2 hours... It's very confusing. So then I'll start over with 1/2 and 1/2 and gradually decrease from there. I'll probably start making the blocks of bits a lite smaller so they're equal. Also... My cousin apparently did not hear me tell her that baby kitten + ferrets = bad idea for now. Bo met Amara today while I was shopping for both. No hostility, in fact Bo seemed more interested in sniffing her than anything, but I don't plan on a repeat any time soon. I have enough to worry about witbout ferret playtime going wrong too

switching her to raw as a baby will be way easier than an adult. I'd expect she would take to it instantly. I personally would do 4-5 feedings per day. I will strongly recommend a vet visit soon to rule out any parasites and such though. The vet will be able to tell you better on her age so we can be sure on her diet when she begins to wean off of milk. you are doing awesome! I'm just thankful the kitten is safe. I have heard horror stories.

they're doing good! They're doing well with the ratio right now but I don't know if I should move them up or not. There was one or two peices I forgot to cut up in their breakfast this morning (sleep deprived from a certain kitten wanting to sleep with a warm body instead of in her nest) and I noticed they didn't eat them completely but they did chew on them for a while. So they attempted haha

How about we keep them at this ratio tonight and tomorrow, then the ratio can be adjusted after that. let's give them a little break.

RE the feeding dish, ceramic dishes are best IMO (esp the dishwasher safe ones). Or metal. A wide, shallow dish is preferable as some cats and ferrets don't like the feeling of their very sensitive whiskers being smooshed by the sides of a bowl. Also, be sure to AVOID any dishes with a rubber non-slip base as that is a major blockage hazard. You want something that is completely ceramic or metal. RE kitty she should be able to transition directly to raw once she is old enough to switch to solids. The pooping I can't help too much with, and feeding frequency depends on age - follow your vet's reccomendations. BUT when it gets to the diet part there I can be of help. lol Keep up the great work! (dance) Also, when you get a chance some photo updates of your crew would be appreciated. Aaaand who doesn't want kitten pictures also? Just sayin'.....

Tomorrow morning will be pic-heavy. (Though if you're really interested about Amara, I made her her own thread: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/21919/newest-addition-amara ) I did get a met bowl for the ferrets last night; I'll update with how that works tomorrow as well.

You mention that she's chewing the nipple, how big of a hole did you poke into it? Also, yessssss, we love pictures!

You mention that she's chewing the nipple, how big of a hole did you poke into it? Also, yessssss, we love pictures! I had to use a tack (unused) to put an X and then I pulled a tiny piece off. It drips pretty steadily. Now her thing is to swat frantically at the bottle. What kind of pictures do you want from Blaze and Bo? Above or dangle or both?

One of each view for each ferret is preferable.

I'm sorry I haven't replied for a bit, yesterday (I have issues with my left hip being out of place) I managed to pop my hip into place, and it popped back out in a matter on an hour. I was in quite a bit of pain so I curled up on the couch and hid from the world. I think they are good, but I will let Katt be the official judge since she asked for them. Kitten formulas in general can cause a bit of constipation and gas. When you are making her to, you're going over her actual anus too, right? Also, I looked at Amara's thread, you are feeding her more often than every six hours now, correct? I am gathering information for you for her raw switch, I promise, so I would like to ask that you take her diet advise from Katt and I. I just don't want too many opinions to overwhelm you. Back to the ferrets! Have you been able to increase the meat pieces and lessen the soup successfully?

Ouch, ouch, ouch! That can't have been fun, I don't blame you for hiding! I've only popped my shoulder out of place once, but that was one time too many for me!
Yes, I go over her anus when I make her potty. She's peeing quite a bit (seriously, I didn't think a bladder from an animal that small could hold that much pee!) but she hasn't gone poop yet. I've been super busy lately, so I haven't had a chance to update her thread, but I'll go do that when I'm finished here. She's been bunked up to four hour feedings, because I weighed her once when we got her and again yesterday and she lost half an ounce, so I figured I wasn't feeding her enough. I plan on weighing again this morning to see where we stand on that; it'll be posted on her thread too.
I'll stick to your guys' feeding advice for her, too. I did talk to a vet online and they said as long as she's peeing frequently we should be okay. I'm still taking her to the vet this Satuday, just to get a second opinion (we lost a kitten because they couldn't poop, and that's been a serious mental hurdle for me with Amara) and to make sure that if she does have worms/fleas/etc, we can get her treated asap.
Ferret-wise: I'm stuck!! They're at half and half for overnight and 2/3 to 1/3 for morning/afternoon refill. I want to raise it up a bit, but I'm having issues figuring out how much because it's 3 cubes morning, 1 cube refill afternoon, and 4 cubes overnight. Do you think it's possible to just give 4 in morning and 4 in overnight and see how that does If so, I can up the ratio to 3/4 chicken bits and 1/4 soup.
