I found a baby mouse at work, and now we're trying to figure out what to do with it. I'm hoping Candice will chime in, as I know she has some experience with mice, etc. My work put down traps the other day, and I'm wondering if a mouse they caught in it was the mom I put him back into a hole that was clearly from a mouse, and he crawled his way back out. He's cold and clearly hungry; he keeps trying to suckle my skin I'm trying to decide whether to take him and give it a try, or let him stay and hope for the best. Any advice?

Hey Tara!!!! Glad I caught this. Baby mousie, what fun!!! Probably the easiest thing at this point would be KMR (Kitten Milk Replacer) from one of the big pet stores, for you to get a hold of. If you have easy access to it though, or can get it later - I much prefer goat milk of any kind, canned (but raw is best). A dropper is good - can you post pictures? You will want to keep baby in a safe enclosed place (like a tank or a weighted-down critter keeper if you have cats) with a heating pad on half of the underside (so if it gets too cold it can move to the other side). Are the eyes open? Fur? Pics would really help but first thing to do would be get food in that poor little one!! They need to eat every 1-3 hours depending on age.

So far, so good! He's eating and keeping warm. At this point, though, it could go either way. I've tried rehabilitating a baby mouse before, and he took a turn for the worst VERY quickly. *Fingers crossed! Candice has been an extroidinary help! Thanks for asking about him! I think it might be a girl, but either way, I've named him Reepicheep from Chronicles of Narnia.

Psh, it's nothing. I didn't know you'd tried doing it before. I'll be praying that it works this time. Best thing, of course, if to find a lactating doe but that's not always possible. Plus based on what you tell me about his age you shouldn't have to hand feed him for too long. I love the name Reepicheep! And it very well may be a girl. ^_^ I can't wait to see pics too.
