Hi! I was suppose to reply earlier but became quite busy with ferret playtime. Hahaha! I'm loving all the photos. Gomez has such a gorgeous colouring and looks nice and healthy. He's quite the handsome little ferret isn't he. I noticed in the last photo that his fur seems little dull and flat. My kits were the same way when I started and the fur changed a lot during the switch. It will become nice and full and quite very soft. Gomez looks like a dark sable. I adore him! Thats great to hear that he's eating slivers. Ground meats are called mince where live (isn't that funny? ) I think its fantastic that Gomez had the Ground steak and enjoyed it. Beef is filled with iron, Vitamin B and Taurine. So having red meat in the diet is essential for ferrets. My guys love beef as well. He didn't eat much breakfast, but he did eat correct? Do you know how much he ate roughly from breakfast? A good trick you can do to figure this out is to weigh the food before you put it out and when you come home to leftovers, weight it and see the difference in weight. Ferrets tend to sleep a lot more during winter, so it could very well be due to seasons changing. Ferrets are more active at dawn and dusk as well. I find my guys are more active in the evenings rather than during the day.

Evening or morning to you.....Gomez is very handsome yes. His coat is pretty and yes it has changed a little, very soft, pretty marking and color. He is getting 2 oz in the am and 2 oz in the pm.....sometimes another ounce then slivers of chicken, pork and ground steak about an ounce at times. He loves salmon oil and we give him 1/2 teaspoon every other day. Tomorrow is weigh day so well see how much he is again.

Forgot something, when Jami and I make soupie we weigh out 1 ounce each, place in ice cube tray and make 1 ounce cubes.....freeze and then pop out into a gallon zip lock. Then each day we take out 4 to start and now this week we started 5 cubes= 4-5 ounces.

Hello ! Gomez is eating a nice amount for breakfast and dinner. Posting photos is a really good idea. As the transition progresses you can come back and see how much he's changed. I actually have a before and after photo of my girl and the change shocked me! Its incredible how much a healthy diet can improve their overall health. I can't wait to hear how weigh in goes! 5 cubes sounds about right for Gomez. Males usually eat a lot more. In fact my boy had around 5 cubes by himself, even a few more on some days. :heehee:

In fact my boy had around 5 cubes by himself, even a few more on some days. :heehee: Oh good.....we are finding like Poncesmom said they do....he tends to like closer to room temp food lol We did the salmon oil trick and it worked on the scale. So Sept 27 he weighed 1067 grams which was day 2 for us and traveling back from Ohio. Then last week at the vet check and rabies shot day he weighed 1114 grams, today Mr. Gomez weighing in corner 1 of the ring at 1082 grams!!!! So why the fluctuation this week? He has not eaten great if you recall this week and has slept alot. He actually 2 times it has taken Jami and I to hand feed as he has acted like a human 2 year brat, heehee......I know I have read alot on here of them being so stubborn and we have to be more so. This morning he just ate like a champ, 2.5 oz of soupie and 1/2 oz of slivers of chicken and tried slivers of gizzard. He does not like gizzards.
