So I have read for a few months now that when on raw or switching that fuzzies don't drink as much water.....true? Gomez is peeing several times a day but his water bowl is really not lower, anything to be concerned about?

It's quite alright to double up the batch just as long as the ratios are all correct. I did it twice during the soupie stage. If Gomez is eating very well, it's fine to increase the amount to 5oz. The basic rule is If he leaves left overs, decrease the amount, if he eats it all up completely its fine to add on some more. He's eating more to gain back lost nutrients and he'll cut back when he starts on slivers or little further down in the transition. Since winter is coming around the corner for you, its normal for Gomez to increase in appetite. When I started the soupie stage, my boy Yuuki ate an average of 4 ounces and there were days where he could very well manage 5-6 ounces per meal. It was also winter when I started, so yes I can say they really do eat a lot more during winter hahaha! It sounds normal that he didn't eat. It is only the start of the transition so these things are to be expected. It could also be just one of those days. Do you know how much roughly he's eating per meal at the moment? How is his weight and activity levels as well? He may not be as active during the winter months. Mine slept a lot during the winter. A sandbox, rice box and so many fun things. That sounds like ferret heaven! He must have a ball with all those!

Whoops. Missed this one almost. Yes its true that ferrets don't drink as much water once they're on a natural diet.
The reason for that is because they get a lot of their water needs from the raw meaty goodness from their natural diet compared kibble. They drink more on kibble diets because kibble is dry and can easily dehydrate ferrets, even cats.

I wish the photobucket worked with my phone - Samsung android note 4, cause all my pictures of him are on it. The photobucket just blinks and blinks, I have installed and Uninstaller and still nothing.
He has gained 66 grams since we picked him up 3 weeks ago. He has not had any kibble in 1 week and is eating 2-3 oz in the morning when he gets up and 2 oz in the evening....4-5 oz a day and if he doesn't eat all at a sitting we leave in his condo. His weight is almost 3 lbs was 2.5 lbs when we got him.
We as you have read going to get a young female....what do you all suggest for timing. Jami and I were thinking after Gomez transitions off soupie but there are good reasons to do at the same time so now. How long I wonder will he be on soupie, I know it varies and we have been giving him small slivers, when it is larger slivers he doesn't do good with those.

You have the same phone as me! Have you tried the Tapatalk app? I use it and you can post images directly onto the forum from it. It's quite good. He's a very good weight! I'm quite impressed. It's also fantastic that he's been off kibble for a week. He'll begin to detox for a couple of weeks as his body begins to adjust to the diet change to the raw soupie. He's also eating a really good amount. If he's doing well with the soupie, you could try adding in some small slivers and decreasing the amount of slivers if you would like and see how he goes with that. Have you tried him with just a sliver? How is he with hand feeding? The soupie stage does vary. I went through mine quite quickly because my ferrets progressed really quickly. I honestly think the soupie stage is the easiest from my experience. It really must depend on the ferret. Gomez would love a playmate! The timing really depends on you to be honest. Either way, Gomez would really benefit from getting a new ferret friend to play, eat and sleep with. I adopted a rescue a week before I finished up my switch~

Hey....might be how I wrote it but yes we have had him doing slivers of chicken and pork for a week now, also the first he had was ground steak and loved it, Poncesmom said that was great since beef is stronger, he likes it, I ground it myself. I will try the tabtalk, great we have the same phone lol.
I think he needs a friend too....maybe this weekend.
Ok today we just got home and he did not eat much breakfast this morning and nothing of the left over breakfast we left, 2 days now like that of not eating during the day. Came home and he wants to sleep, get him out and he goes to his box that is out of his condo. How do you tell lethargic from sleepy? I know boys are more couch potatoes we've read. Just a bit concerned....he is responsive....could be he just woke up.
