Brooklyn is only a year and a half, that seems to young for cataracts. Let's see what the vet says on Friday. My gf just got back and had a chance to check it out. Now it is gone, but there was some clear eye crust gunk at the bottom of the eye-lid...like the sleepy eye stuff dogs/people get. "She seems to be able to see from it. She responded when my hand came at her multiple times in that direction she would look at me and turn" I'll still mention it to the vet when they both get their checkups.

That's probably all it was. Anything that involves the eyes is always scarey, whether it's people or furry ones. Just keep an eye out on her. Pun intended.

So they went to a new vet last night that was highly recommended for dealing with ferrets.. Well worth the 50 min drive each way. Our usual vet is nice but not very knowledgeable on ferrets , he thought they were omnivores.... The new vet loved that they were switched to raw Brooklyn's eye checked out fine, and they both were healthy. He examined brooklyn's seedy stool and that came back fine, it also had a little chip of bone in it.. After cleaning out their ears really deep after we cleaned them the night before, they had mite eggs in them. I was really surprised at all of the wax he took out! So he put them on some ivermectin , 1drop per ear per week until It runs out. Their teeth were fine with harrys back molars getting some plaque behind them. Overall they were happy at the vet and did not fuss about it besides while they got their ears cleaned, and they got to walk around the room. I also asked about future blood tests and the price he gave me was: $25 per for the b/g test $60-70 per for the b/g with a test for nutrition related stuff (good for raw switch to see if everything is ok in a few months)

I finally went to an Asian market today and found some cool stuff.
I ended up buying:
Quail eggs and a 6 pack of 'golden quail' (look slightly bigger than a chick size)
They also had 'pork brain' pork kidney and pork tongue that seem gross but interesting loll
So I guess I could add those to my potential menu of it makes it easier since those are organs besides liver.
Oh and they had a frozen whole duck about the size of a forearm in length for $15 bucks ,, and I can get a pack of chicken wings and drumsticks too for pretty cheap.
Edit: they also had 'goat meat'

Sounds like you had fun. I think it's alot more fun shopping for them than for us.
That was a good price for duck. It's super expensive here. Goat meat is a red meat, and high in Iron and Vitamin B. We haven't tried it for the ferrets yet, but I've had it. It's lower in Cholesterol and less fatty. We want Fatty meats for our ferrets, Fat equals energy, but might make for a good Red Meat choice. Ferrets seem to be rather picky about beef.
Pork Brains are a favorite of mine, (well my ferrets lol) but I'm a little confused by Pork Brain Pork Kidney. It might be a typo on the packaging.

Oh that was a typo by me, I meant they had 3 separate pork products:
-pig brain -pig kidney -pig tongue
I'll have to give the goat meat a try, but I forgot to look at the price of it or if it had salt or anything added.

How's everything going?
Are their weights, poops and energy levels good?
How about bones, are they working on those?

How's everything going? Are their weights, poops and energy levels good? How about bones, are they working on those? Going good so far. I would say they are more active playing around and everything. They were running around the house last night from the kitchen to the bathroom when usually we hate them into the living /media room. Weights as of the vet ( 11/7) was: Harry 1,202 grams (2.65 pounds) Brooklyn 1085 grams (2.39 pounds) They have probably gained a little bit more since then as well. Poops are better for the most part. I have not given them chicken for awhile and that may be part of the reason they have seedy poops/diarrhea more often. Raw duck and turkey seems to be about a 50/50 shot of more formed poop or not. Feeding them just quail / pheasant seemed to make it a bit better with less seed, and they had actual poop-shape poops pretty consistently. They have worked up to slivers ranging from 0.25inchss all the way up to an inch. Sometimes though they will spit it out if the piece isn't tearing and really chewing until I tear it into smaller pieces. Bone-wise they are stuck at pieces the size of a pebble or they start spitting them out usually. Right now I just ran out of pheasant and quail grinds but I do have a 6-pack of "golden quail " I want to try giving them. They are about the size of a fist ion length. How would I go about giving them one to share? Just let it thaw and see what they do throughout the day with it? Puncture it a few times and then serve?

All sounds well. You're doing so Good! (dance) This is what I did with those small Quail, I used a cleaver and pounded it. Before After: Overall your menu looks good. Have you tried introducing a red meat yet? Red meats are high in Iron and Vitamin B. We talked about ground chuck earlier, have you had a chance to try any yet? How is Brooklyn? Any more eye issues? Give both Harry and Brooklyn a big hug from me.

I'll hopefully be letting them try stew meat this weekend.
They tried Stella & Chewy's Lamb patty's and they hated it,
Those quail look a bit bigger than the ones that came in mine, i'll have to take a picture once I get them ready.
A clever did all of that??? That looks like a grind almost now haha.
Is it the same concept at first when starting whole prey? Just mash them up and get bigger pieces?
I was thinking of buying a frozen duck as well.
