To combat the rogue poops, I put a sheet from the sleeping den (cage) in the feeding den, in fact Thor and Loki both passed out in it. I figured I put their nest smell in it the poops would stop, we'll see.
Anyways, the quail, the nights early and they will always come back later to eat more. Everyone had a go eating some of it, even Loki showed a genuine interest in eating some.
I let Thor go first since she's the alpha, but the location of the den allowed for the boys to keep climbing in. She started at the head, I let Clyde work on a leg. Once she ate the head, Clyde took over where she left off and once Clyde was done Loki did the same. However I don't think Thor or Clyde were genuinely done, I think they just backed off to let the other guy in their face get some food.

hmm... I'm not sure about them backing off for the 'other guy'. When my kids aren't finished, there's no way you can separate them from their food. Maybe your fuzzies are nicer than mine! I'm glad everyone ate some, even picky Loki Once everyone is eating all the new stuff, we'll talk about getting you graduated if you feel ready. There is a quiz you'll need to take, covering some basic nutrition stuff, and you'll need to work up a final menu for approval. Of course, I'll always be here if you have any questions, but I feel like you're about ready to go it alone.

The quail definitely appears to have gone over well with all 3 of them. I was surprised to not see any fighting over it, of course I have no way of knowing what happened over night, but they were rather well behaved with it when I was awake.
Cavy is on the menu for the next 2 meals so tonight we'll see how it goes over. I think Thor and Clyde will be fine with the last 2 intros, Loki can go either way. He has the ability but will he eat.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, most of the hard work is done just need to intro the last 2 proteins.

Don't forget to offer soups every once in a while, just so they remember that it's food. Hopefully you'll never need it to get someone through an illness, but rather be safe than sorry. I'm still trying to get my Minnie-girl to eat soup. She thinks it's POISON!! (headwall)

Ok, tonight was the introduction to cavies.
They showed much interest in it, unfortunately for all three of them, they couldn't rip the skull open. They crushed it just fine. I sliced the belly for them but unfortunately for me they insist on starting at the head. So I made another slice for them and they each nibbled on what was in there. This is just preliminary and I'm sure more progress will be made throughout the night.
I'm going to file this as yes, but slight assistance may be needed. Just one more left to try.

Ferrets are funny about what they're particular about, aren't they.. all wanting to start with the head. And don't you love their jaw strength!? I'm constantly amazed by what they can crush with those jaws, and even more amazed that they don't crunch my hand or fingers when I have to do something to them that they don't like! Was that one cavy each, or were they sharing? Whichever, I hope they finished it off during the night!

It was a shared cavy, it's size is adequate for 2 meals for all 3 of them. When I checked on their progress this morning it looked like about half of it was consumed. Once I get home I'll be able to see how it finished off.

They did really well with it, I think it's safe to give cavies a thumbs up. I'll assist them by slicing the neck open if they have issues again. They're playing and running around and I'll post back later on how the rabbit goes over.

I have my final menu figured out in my head, I just want to make sure I won't have issues with the rabbit before I post it. Here's hoping for 3 out of 3

As well as they're doing with everything else, I don't anticipate any problems with the rabbit. It seems that most ferrets love it.

Well as of right now nothing consumed, I cut the belly all the way up to the head, Loki still insists on biting the fur that is just hanging there. The boys were seriously trying the head earlier, I crushed it to try to help them out but they didn't want to touch it at that point. I'll check it in the morning to see if they touch it overnight but right now they've all walked away and gone to sleep.
It's rather frustrating that they all show serious interest and once I step in to try and help they just go "yeah we're done, not touching it." Maybe I didn't try helping soon enough, I don't know, I'm really hoping they come around. If they do, I hope it's when I'm still awake otherwise I'll have no idea who ate (if any).

I checked on the rabbit this morning and some was consumed, but of course I don't know who it was. I'll keep an eye on it today to see who the taker or takers are and hopefully I can cross this off the list.
I'm glad I only bought the medium rabbit but I really want small rabbits for future orders, I think it would be easier for them to eat.
