This is what we ate today. This is the pork soup. I will take pics of the chicken and the turkey too when we eat them tomorrow and the day after. is there other information which I should write down? I haven't been recording the exact amounts that they eat, just looking at it approximately. Today Zack ate very well and ate almost all of it without the help of a spoon. I will buy a feeding den today if I find a good box.

Oh that's great! Much farther along than I was thinking. (dance) Okay so since they are eating a really decent slop, let's work this week on increasing chunk size instead of number. Start mixing in a few slightly larger chunks of meat each day. Start with just a little bit larger than the ones in there, and just a few pieces. If they accept it, then add a few more pieces the next meal, etc until you get to a point where they resist a bit. Stick with the resisting stage until they accept it, then start moving forward again. So next meal mix in a couple of slightly larger slivers and see what they do.

That one was made of ground pork, that i had a bunch of. I did not use the blender, but I did add a bit of water.
I still have quite a bit of ground turkey and ground pork. And I was wondering how I should use it? SHould I use the ground meat to make the blended soupies and then cut up real meat and put it in those. Or should I just add less water to the ground meat mixes?

Are the grinds commercial grinds of whole animal or is it just muscle meat?

It is just regular human grade grinds from the store, so I assume it is just muscle meat, and add the organs and the eggshell. I added less water to this, and it became harder to eat for everyone. this is today's turkey

Okay if it is human grade then yes it is only muscle meat. So yeah, you should be adding in organs, heart, and eggshell or bonemeal powder. We'll work on separating the heart and liver meals from the muscle and bone meals soon.

Hello, sorry for the delay - busy weekend Here is the photo of our weekend chicken mush I didn't add any water at all, and it is getting for them to be tougher to eat it. They don't eat as much as they used to and it is harder to get them to stay. I feed them this with a spoon because they really don't eat enough if they just eat from the bowl (just a couple of bites). we should be getting used to this during this week I hope.

No worries, I've had a busy weekend too! We're prepping for our big move to Seattle. Since they are resisting, keep them at this stage for a little while to get them used to eating it. Hand feed if you need to, then work on weaning them off of the hand feeding to get them to eat the grind on their own.

The chicken mush lost a bit of its moisture in the fridge overnight. So this morning Zack completely refused it that way (not even if i fed him from my hands), and I had to water it down with water a little. Honey ate it all no problem. And Miri ate it from the bowl herself but just a little, when I tried to hand feed her further she refused it. So now I know what consistency we can eat and the next one which we can't yet

All good today! everyone was hungry and ate well. I should also tell you that I will be leaving on a trip for two weeks starting this weekend, and won't be able to keep in touch here. (after this I will be home for at least another 6 months, summer is just quite a hectic time) The ferrets will still be eating how they were, and it will give us time to get better at eating the grinds with less water.

Sounds good, thanks for the heads up! We are going to be moving right during that time (we leave Monday) so that works well anyways.
