That's a good idea. I was happy to learn about DE from you. I may do that right before we go vacation. I haven't seen any fleas, but like I said, we are having a terrible time with ticks, this season.

I know, Ticks just creep me out. When Paul and I were first dating, we went camping. I came home with six ticks in my hair. EWWWW....to this day, I am just so horrified by those nasty little things.
We are going to Lake Keuka in upstate New York. Paul's mother is very sick with pancreatic cancer, and her husband has rented two large houses on a lake. So, everyone will be there. I'm looking forward to the vacation, but not leaving my four little ones. I will be taking them up to Ohio (its on the way) and they will board with Pam VanOverloop (PVO ferrets). It will be fun meeting her and she will still have some of her kits, from the last two litters. Did you follow that story (she has a ferret cam). Her two females, who were best friends had something like 19 baby meepers between them. Then suddenly, one of the females (I think it was Tiramasu) died. The second female now had all these babies. They were bottle feeding and helping the poor overworked adopted mom and managed to save most of the babies. Pam is a sweetheart. She was featured in the PBS special "Ferrets, pursuit of excellence". If you haven't seen that video, look for it. Its lots of fun and profiles what goes on, in ferret shows and especially at the August Buckeye Bash.
Are you and Mclain still going to Six Flags?

Oh that sounds like a fun time. I;m sorry about paul's mom D: She'll be in my thoughts. I dont follow too many breeders, but that sounds very sad D: I'll have to look her up though. Yeah we're going sometime... we have season passes so we really should go more often. I will also look that video up its kind of neat seeing more ferret things pop up the deeper I delve into the ferret community. So ive been pulling her loose hair out O.O not like hard, but it come out easily when i lightly pull it and now it looks like its snowed in my room. Very interesting though because cat hair drives me crazy, but I dont mind this Ill have to vacuum later tonight though. I've been debating about whether or not to put in an application to a ferret shelter here in TX. I wouldn't be able to take a baby until Aug 15th (finally got my official move in day), but at least my app would be processed. I dunno I'm kind of nervous about the whole thing. Can i send you my app after I finish to make sure everything looks okay?

I would be happy to look over your app. Are you hoping for a baby? There is something so special about having a baby ferret. I bet Evanna would make a good mommy for a little meeper.
So, its snowing fur in your room. Ferret fur doesn't bother me either. Did you see that post from one of our members who wants to knit with ferret fur? I can't remember who it was, but I have this visual of you with enough of Evanna's fur for an afghan. lol

I just realized you mentioned an official move in day. Are you moving from your Grandmother's house?

I dont really care what age.. a baby would be cute, but I also feel like someone thats calmer like evanna and is more her cuddle buddy would be nice too. So I'd just have to visit the shelter and see who tugs at my heartstrings. Haha! Okay maybe I dont have THAT much hair but it is noticeable. He coat is all patchy from where I've been tugging, but I figure the less she grooms the less likely she is to choke on her hair! Although i think she's tired of my grooming because She's been avoiding cuddles today. She had chicken neck for breakfast and she's going to have beef chunks for dinner tonight yummm! Haha I'm just glad she's acquired a taste for beef. Did I tell you that while I was in Missouri the dog ate all of Evanna's beef? I tried to share with him and I gave him a chicken wing, but he was not interested at all so i though the food was safe on the ground. Apparently he only likes red meat

The Dog must have been thrilled to have a visitor who gets fed beef, and is easy to steal from.
So, she's liking beef better now? That's really great. This morning on the Mentors board there was a discussion about red meat and how important, it is. Everyone was grumbling because beef isn't a favorite menu option for most ferrets. Mine still aren't crazy about it. I'd like to try lamb or goat, but its super expensive. I'll have to wait until Paul isn't around and slip some into my grocery cart.
I know what you mean about someone tugging at your heart strings. Whether its a baby or not, someone will pick you out and be so happy to have a good home.

Yeah she nommed it all up last time and usually if I can get her to eat it once then she'll eat it after. If Evanna was more food directed then she probably wouldnt have let him steal it when he got too sniffy for her she bit him on the nose... needless to say he left her alone after that. Ugh why are ferrets so cute. I want them all!

I know, I want them all too. We are really good with four, but when we are in a pet store and someone is especially cute, I still will say to Paul...Should we bring them home? I am staying off of Craigslist and Petfinder, too many need homes.

I saw a little panda girl at the store and Im so glad I didnt have money with me because I wanted to take her and run. I kill myself looking at craigslist and I joined that ferret group called dookin in the USA i think? I want them all O.O My grandma is so funny she's very concerned that Evanna sleeps too much so I tried to tell her that ferrets sleep a lot in general, but I dont think she believes me. She's also been looking up lots of info on the internet and she believes ALL OF IT... (headwall) she tried to convince me the other day that Evanna was going to give us all rabies

Your Grandmother sounds like a real character. Its very sweet that she is taking such an interest in Evanna. Maybe next time, Evanna goes to the vet, your grandmother can go along and the Vet can reassure her.
Sometimes, some little one will grab your heart. There was a little female in the Pet Store, that I bought Ponce from. I saw her about a year after we had brought Ponce home. I wanted her so bad, but life was hectic and I didn't get her. I even named her Pandora. Finally, I decided the heck with it, and went back and she was gone. I still remember her and hope she had a good life. She's the one "that got away", that I regret. But, I see cute little ones all the time and like we both said, we can't help them all.
So, you're going back to school. Will you live in the Dorm? I really envy you, college was wonderful and I loved every minute of it. My first year, I went to a very small private college. We had less than two hundred people, mostly girls and a few, very happy young men. We had so much fun.
When my daughter was in high school, she had alot of friends at college, with ferrets. That's where she got the idea to have a ferret. They had a ferret club. Maybe you could join or start one, at your school. Think how many young ferrents could learn from you.
Has Evanna had the duck gizzards yet? If so, did she like them? Mine are crazy about both the duck gizzards and the duck hearts.

NO DORM EVER AGAIN! I had bad experiences.. and *shudders* girls are gross and they like to yell and I cant deal with that again. Ill be moving into a two bedroom apartment and I'll find out who my roommate is in a week or two. Haha a ferret club sounds kind of cute, I already know someone who has a ferret and we plan on having playdates Shee hasnt had duck gizzards yet. i havent found any in stores so I'll have to order some from HT.

My son feels the same way about Dorms. He lives in the UCF college apartments and is pretty happy with his setup.
Look around your area for an asian market. I've mentioned it before, but you won't believe the selection of meats, they have in those stores. On our last visit, we bought rabbit, duck gizzards and hearts, beef shanks and marrow, two packages of quail and some other stuff and walked out of the store for under $40.
