I came home from work about an hour ago and found greenish liquidy poo in a few spots in my boys cage. Dont know who it is from yet. Probably my older boy Skunkers. Any idea what this could be?? He already has an appointment for the vets Thursday to have a tooth looked at. I have never seen anything like this. Could it have just been something he ate that did not agree with him??

What is he eating? Last couple meals? Age, any known medical problems? Has he had a good once since? Is it a new meat?

They are on ground raw meat, chicken and turkey by Primal, and Orijen kibble when in the cage. Been on the same raw meat diet and brand for at least three years now both of them. I only change the kibble sometimes, but have not done it lately. Last time was back in December. SKunkers is 5 and Thomas is 3. No good poops as of yet! Just walked back in the animal room and there is runny poop on the floor. But its not green. But again I did not see who did it. Thomas has a dry butt and Skunkers paws are sticky and he has dried poop on his butt.

Could just be a stress poop, some meat that didn't agree with him, etc. Watch for signs of dehydration and see if it slows down in a bit. You could also add some pumpkin and see if that helps slow down digestion (the green is from passing too quickly through the body).

They both seem fine other then not finishing there meat tonight, which is kinda weird. And Thomas seems to be hiding out. which is also weird. Well it has been kinda hot the past few days. Wonder if that could be why they are not finishing their meats. Skunkers is back at the meat but Thomas is still hiding out

it could be ece but then again it could be alot of other things as well, an imbalance in his bacteria might also be to blame

Ok just caught Skunkers going to the bathroom. His just looks seedy not really runny. Think it may be Thomas. He is still hiding out.

It could be a blockage. Since you say it's hot, the meat may have turned a bit too much for them to tolerate. Or he may have eaten something that hasn't blocked him up, but could be toxic, or even just a tummy upset. No way of knowing for sure here. But if he's hiding, something is wrong, and he needs to be at least looked at. And soon.

called all the emergency vets around here and only one that is open that see's ferrets is in PA in the city. and they said all they can do is look at him and nothing much more to see if there is a problem. This sucks. My friend offered to come over and give him fluids. He seems fine just a little lethargic, not really eating and runny poop. Breathing seems fine and all.

Is he dehydrated? Pinch(gently) on his scruff. If it stays up, odds are he is, and the subq fluids would be a good idea.

SO he has an appointment today. My friend tried doing fluids but could not get the needle threw the skin. Had a feeling that would happen because they have tough skin. She is used to doing that on cats. We were stessing him out too much. We also tried Nutra Cal and he did not really take any. I have been worried about him all night. But he is still in the same shape. Drinking and just sleeping. My other ferret is still fine

Oh yeah and trying to hold him down was soo hard to do when she was trying to give the needle. Is the best spot to do it in the neck like you do with cats???
