My partner has just messaged me to let me know that for breakfast Esmerelda has eaten a few small chunks of meat now. She's storming ahead! I'll try that with the rabbit for tomorrows meals and see what happens Thanks for the advice

So George is very kindly helping Esmerelda eat her soup as he's decided he likes that too!
Been trying to seperate them whilst they eat but they seem to be having none of it! George is still eating his meat chunks, but not so keen on the turkey slivers. Es is eating around her meat chunks when she gets a chance, oh and she's also hiding George's food too! They are terrors the pair of them!
I didn't manage to get to the market for some pork yesterday so will get some today and try G on that.

What might actually work best right now is to try leaving the kibble out all day(let her have some at night). Let her full up on what soup she'll eat otherwise she only has access to George's chunks during the day. She'll watch him eating it and will quite likely join him What all is George eating again?

Thanks Sherry, we've started doing that now. She'll lick it if we hand feed it to her, but otherwise she seems to leave it.
Here's my weekly update
1. Ferret's name:Esmerelda 2. Ferret's weight:1Kg 3. Esmerelda doesn't seem to be eating much soup. She'll lick it if we give it to her and maybe have a bit extra, but mostly she seems to be waiting for the kibble in the evening. 4. Standard kibble poos at the moment. 5. Activity levels:High. 6. Weekly menu:Raw soup during the day and then kibble at night.
1. Ferret's name: George 2. Ferret's weight:1.5Kg 3. George has eaten 2oz amount on average per meal. 4. Stools on various proteins. At the moment they are mostly small and dark and a bit runny. 5. Activity levels: High as well! 6. Weekly menu: (This is for George as Es has just been having raw soup during the day and kibble at night) Monday: am- chicken with turkey slivers pm- chicken with turkey slivers about 4oz total Tuesday: am- chicken heart pm- chicken heart about 4oz total Weds: am- chicken and turkey with bonemeal chicken and turkey with bonemeal about 4oz total Thurs: am- raw soup pm- chicken with gizzards about 4oz total Fri: am- chicken with pork slivers pm- chicken with pork slivers about 4oz Saturday- am- pork and turkey pm- chicken and bone meal 4oz Sunday- am- chicken and liver

Sounding good With George keep increasing ratio and size if new proteins as he accepts them. With Ezmerelda try to make sure she's too full at night(hand feed) to eat much kibble. In the morning start with the spoon feeding and keep lowering the spoon to the dish and as she follows and licks from the spoon in te dish move it aside so she's licking from the dish itself.

George ate a whole meal of pork last night! I had to hand feed it to him, but he ate it! Es is also eating the soup as long as I spoon feed her, I've been lowering it into the bowl too and that works for a while.
Just a heads up, we are moving house on Friday, so we won't have the internet for 3 or 4 days. I should hopefully be able to update from my phone, but just in case I can't that's why! I'll continue with the feeding and keeping a log.

They are making really good progress. And yes, it is going to take a while with Esmerelda. Just keep lowering the spoon and moving it aside. Also once she gets going, start offering the spoon closer to the dish. What you are doing basically is tricking her into eating directly from the dish and sometimes it has to be done in baby steps. After a couple days, start offering from the spoon while it's pretty much laying in the dish. You can also start feeding her on the floor and just sit beside her as well. That trains her off your lap. With George, keep him going with the new proteins, and lets start working at getting some heart into him as well. Good luck with the move!

Oh excellent! I have no idea how I missed that, lol. Just saw the liver as well. I do have one question. You likely told me, but I can't remember. You post a.m.'s for the menu. What is he eating in the evening, or are you feeding once a day?

Hehe that's ok! I have posted pm's too, they are on the same row as the am. It's generally the same as what we give him in a morning. He gets fed about 7am before I go to work and then when we get back about 4.30 he gets fed again.

Of course you did, Okay, and now that we are BOTH on the same page, let's carry on, shall we (disappointed) Start steadily increasing the sizes of what he is eating for chunk, both old and new proteins. Keep going until they get to be about a couple inches long and half to a full inch wide. Once he gets a week or so of chewing these in he can get moving on actual bone. Also, can you find organs other than liver?

Hehe, thanks Sherry I'll start doing that! Other organs, I could try and get some kidney. I did try him with ox kidney a few weeks ago but he wasn't too fond of that. What would you suggest for a bit of variety?

Gah, still no deals on the rabbit with George. I'm going to try cutting it up even smaller. He seems to be eating the bigger pieces of chicken which is good. Esmerelda will now eat the soup off a spoon on the floor, but stops when she notices it's in the dish. She seems to just lap at the soup rather than take big bites, and I noticed she tries that with George's meat sometimes too!
