Yep, we've switched him back already. He seems to have perked up a bit too and we'll find out later if he's put any weight on, but he's definitely eating more again now, which is great. Just hoping he continues after the steroids are finished.

He may need something like slippery elm bark syrup for flare ups, as stress can trigger it as well(if it IS IBD and not a sensitivity or allergy), but hopefully the pred will have reduced the inflammation enough that his body will take over

Ok, thanks Sherry. How can I tell whether it's IBD or a sensetivity? Are they both very similar in ferrets?

A sensitivity isn't quite as severe when it occurs as compared to an IBD flare up. With the IBD he will also have stomach cramping, general nausea, severe weight loss, and can well develop ulcers. Sensitivity can cause seedy, funky, runny stools along with the weight loss. It can, however, develop into IBD.

Thanks, he's got a few more days of his steroids left, then I guess we'll find out what it is.
He's been getting goat, guinea pig, turkey bums(He hated these), ox heart and mince. To make up for the lack of bone in some meals I'm using human grade bone meal again. He's eating everything, which is great and I'm going to try him on lamb tomorrow.

Okay, so still needs liver/organ in there. Any kind will do once we get him eating it Can you access adult mice or rats for him as well? Great for bone in meal.

Yeah I've got some liver, but I've only been feeding him this since Friday. He will get some tomorrow, it's lambs liver. Yep he's eating large adult mice. He had 3 today infact! I haven't tried him on rats yet though.

Fuzzies are all doing great! All on raw and all eating whole prey! George has put on 0.1kg since being on meds and seems a bit brighter. He still attacks the new ones, but i'm not going to force them until i know he's feeling better. When he is i'll start supervised bath time play i think.

That is actually looking pretty good! You have right proteins, heart/liver/kidney. Remind me- does the pheasant or turkey have bone? And how are they at eating all of it?

The pheasant does, the turkey we have this week is just gizzards so it doesn't, but I can add bonemeal.
They are eating most of what I give them. The meat is in big chunks unless it's whole prey then it's the whole thing. I've ordered some shower hooks so I can start attaching big bits of meat for them to chew on too.
