I've got some spoiled brats. I mixed the pork with the quail and they picked all the quail out. I can get them to eat it if I hold them.

The quail was frozen so I gave them cornish game hen. It seems like they like poultry better. The good thing about the cornish game hen is that it came with the organs. I haven't been able to find organic chicken hearts. Can I introduce regular chicken soon?

Yes, I would try it next. Give a meal and see what happens. It is rather important nutrient wise to get some red meat into them, so keep trying with it. If they don't like beef, try some lamb or goat. Or if you know hunters venison, elk etc.

Thank you, I'll keep trying .is there a thread about land meat and ferrets? I'm just worried about starving them. I've heard if they're hungry they'll eat but also they'll starve themselves.
I'll try regular chicken tomorrow.

Yea, larger mammals. Thanks for the thread. Chicken doesn't seem to be a problem so I can start giving chicken livers/hearts again.

Be cautious with how much you use. Start with a couple times a week and go from there, just in case. A good example is an IBD ferret(I know you aren't dealing with this, just an example) can sometimes have chicken one or two meals a week with little to no issue but more than that will cause a problem. So you don't want to overdo it. Also you need to keep the other proteins in the ratio. So start with organs and heart and maybe one bone in meal a week.

Great on variety! Alright let's start working toward a balanced menu. 7-8 bone in meals(4-5 of those heavy bone), 1.5 meals each heart, liver/kidney. 2-3 other muscle meats. Again- these are approximations dependent on how they do

4 bone in quail and 4 chicken necks/backs I think before I was doing 2 oz of heart and 2 oz liver/kidney a week 1 turkey, 1 pork ,and 1 beef (if they will eat it) maybe mix it with chicken
I just want to be prepared before I introduce all this stuff again. I think they will do okay, and I have everything from when I started the elimination diet.

Okay then! Let's start getting them going on it. When you can switch up the chicken backs and frames for things like a meal of wings and maybe a meal of drumsticks.
