I fed them turkey this morning so I'll do turkey for 5 days with eggshells.
She looked it up and came back with that info. Of course I already knew that, thanks to this forum.
Maybe I'll just make the long trip to the vet That I found on this forum.

Yeah sorry- I just cannot get over the whole idea of pred for a benign growth. I do hope she told you that you cannot just stop giving pred suddenly? Even after a week on it they need to be weaned off. Also keep track of stools in a diary type format! Include anything out of the ordinary like they didn't get out at their normal time, or a repairman was in, etc

She said 2 times a day for 3 days, once a day for a week, and then every other day until recheck. When I do that diary what am I looking for?

Okay, that weaning is fine The elimination diary you just write what he ate, approx how much you THINK he may have eaten, what his deposits were like. Include anything unusual as I'd mentioned. The idea behind it is to find a pattern. Once you've done this for a month go back through and look for commonalities.

I see! I am doing a diary but I'll make it more detailed. I've just been saying if they have been outside and what I've fed them.

It really does help! With Boris I realized disagreement with his ferret buddies could really set him off.

Should I move to another meat source now? There hasn't been any reaction to the turkey. Quail was good.

Stay on the same protein for at least 5 days to see if anything develops. Sometimes they can have one or two meals no issue, but more than that can be troublesome

After they finish this pack of turkey I am going to see if I can get rabbit.

How long will they have been on the turkey for? How have they been doing on it? Any issues? And yes, rabbit is a good one to move to also

Today is the 6th day of turkey. Haven't seen any problems since straight on turkey. I upped the eggshells. I wish they could eat bone.
BTW. Charlie's wounds look better so maybe it wasn't a MCT. We go back in next week.

Perfect time to switch then. If you do see weird poops don't stress right away, it is just them adapting to the next one.

We couldn't get rabbit. So we got beef, we are going to try to get pheasant. I heard some ferrets don't like beef and I've tried to get them to eat beef before but I am trying again.
When can I try chicken again? Would it be a month without it or until I have 3 proteins they like? So far I have quail and turkey.

They wouldn't eat the beef so I gave them turkey in the mean time.
I am on the search for something new
