Hey Guys, My name is Karlee, I am from Calgary, Alberta and I am 20 =]
I share my place with a fiance, a Chihuahua x - Chloe (2 1/2 years old) and a ferret named Sly Bandit. (4 1/2 years old)
I adopted Sly Bandit back in August from people who 'didn't have time for him' he was on IAMS kitten formula cat food, and was underweight, had a cruddy coat, and horrible teeth and waxy ears - yuck! and his name was Diego. He is now a handsome, maybe a little bit overweight ferret with a beautiful full coat and clean teeth and ears =]
I am just completing my course at Karen Pryor Academy, and have just under a month until I am done (hopefully!!). Karen Pryor Academy teaching Animal behaviour and Training. That is why I got Sly in the first place. In the fall I'm going to University, and i'm not sure for what. I want to take Animal Behaviour and Animal Sciences, but I think i'll be getting something in Oil and Gas.
I've been with my Fiance for 4 years in July.
Both my animals are on a Raw - whole prey diet and are THRIVING!!

Hm, I made my own thread but for more details I'll post in here =] Name's Kelly/Ann/Anna/Ana/Pickle. I'm 20 and living with my 25 y/o boyfriend. We have been together almost a year and a half. Ferts: Bonkers (2yr), Booth (About 2yrs), Lincoln (Lil over 1 1/2yr), Riley ( ) While living with my mother she bought Bonkers. About 8 months later, I moved in with Jeff and took Bonkers with me due to...issues. Just 2 months later we got our big guy, Booth. Originally Secret Agent Seeley Booth (Bones), but we didn't like it so it's just Booth. Around middle of 2010 we picked up our youngin Lincoln, originally Wheezy despite the fact he didn't wheeze... ?? Just a couple weeks ago we picked up our first girl, Riley. We have NO idea how old she is, as the prev owners told us 4 yrs, yet she is tiny and her teeth are incredibly white and small. We assume she's roughly 1 year old though. We also have a Degu named Jack who is turning 3 this summer. =3 Currently in-between colleges as I was attending The Art Institute for Graphic Design, but now I'm heading to Ivy Tech in May for Photography. Boyfriend works as a mechanic for Toyota. My boys and girl are my life. =] I don't know where I'd be right now without any of them!!!

I thought I'd do another intro myself. I'm new and since the forum change I've switched to my real name. I was Loveless before. I'm 29 and currently have 4 furchildren 2 ferrets and 2 rabbits. Yeah a bunny sensitive raw feeder does seem odd... In my free time on the weekends I'm a freelance artist so in some of my fuzzie photos you may see odd things in the background. As I said before my first ferret Richard adopted me when he waddled trough my open door one hot summer day. After bringing him back to full heath and a month of searching for his owner we gave him up as abandoned and keep him. My male Rex rabbit took a strong love for Richard and Richard did the same. I'm currently trying to get a video of them snuggling. A year later I moved and Richard got a new friend. A young female ferret named Slink. With more time and the new addition I'm switching over for my fuzzies health. If your curious my other rabbit is a female dutch named Weebles. And through her I learned not all rabbits get along like rabbits. ;D Weebs as a rescue has an extreme dislike for anything male, including my brother. Since my brother is in the produce industry you'll be happy to know my rabbits have a vast natural diet. Very, cool, Noel. I myself have an older dwarf bun, a charcoal guy named Cinder. He's, I think, one of the main reasons the Triad refuse to eat rabbit (they've met him quite a few times, and he keeps an eye on them in turn [thru plexiglass "walls"]) - they won't touch it, although Hiko loves it and has designs on Cinder himself, the few times he's seen him from a distance! Cinder has nerves of steel, though, and nothing really bothers him for long. I feed my bun a biologically appropriate diet, too - he's never had pellets, and he's about 10, now, and doing great (can you tell - I'm really happy to meet another bun-owner, LOL)

Hello! My name is Hillary. I was pretty new to the old Holistic Ferret forum, and very very glad to see that my exciting new resource is continuing on!
I am 24 years old and I live on Cape Cod with my fiancee and our two ferrets, Snickers and Hiro. I'm a vegetarian, my fella is an omnivore, and I'm slooooooooowly switching the kids to a raw carnivorous diet. Right now they eat a "high quality kibble" meal in the morning and a raw soupys meal in the evening. They are in usually in good health but I think I can do better by them with a lot of patience and a little sound advice.

Hello! My name is Sherri and I am 30. I am from Trail, British Columbia. I am an apprentice automotive refinishing techincian. But basically do the job of a tradesperson as I currently have no one to apprentice under in my bodyshop. I have been doing this for nearly 5 years. I have been with my spouse for 8 years. We have a zoo here. 7 ferrets, 3 dogs, 5 cats, a leopard gecko, and a bunch of mice. I am currently trying to switch my ferrets to a complete raw diet. They are eating raw soupies during the day, and get their kibbles back at bed time. As I have a very picky ferret. It's nice to meet you.

I'm Joan, live in Austin, TX, and currently have 7 ferrets, ranging in age from 1 1/2 (recent imports from the UK) to my oldest jill, who will be 7 next month. I've been involved with ferrets since 1996, and have been breeding medium to dark sables on a very small scale since 1999. They have been on a raw/whole prey diet since 2005, although I was giving them chicken necks and wings for 3 years or so before they were switched over completely.
I also have a 14 year old cat who eats EVO feline...Hecate occasionally eats raw if she can steal it from one of the ferrets, but always upchucks afterwards so I've never tried to switch her over.
When I have the space in the summer/fall, I also take in baby raccoons for a local wildlife center until they are ready to be weaned onto their normal diet and trained for release back into the wild.

Never did get any pics of the baby raccoons, as I don't have a camera and none of the visitors during the time I had them had a camera with them. I'm planning on getting one this spring to get pics of the kits, so I'll get pics of the raccoons if I take any in this year...that depends on how many kits I grow out.
For those of you who have digital cameras, what's the best (and easiest to operate, download to the computer, etc) brand to get?
The raccoon babies were about 1-3 weeks old when I got them, and I raised them until they were about 8-9 weeks and completely weaned from the bottle. They're cute, very affectionate, and not too evil until they're big and strong enough to start climbing the pen. That's when I top it and they learn to walk around upside down on the top.
Interestingly, they're as quick to learn to use a litter box as my ferret kits are...and are using it reliably around 5 weeks old. The ferret kits do have an advantage in learning how to use one, as their dam drags them into it from about 4 weeks on whenever they assume "the position."

Brand of camera doesn't matter as much the model you get. I'm a fan of Canon myself but all the major brands are pretty good have good cameras. They all function pretty similarly.
The real question is how much do you want to spend on a camera? A decent digital camera runs from $100- thousands of dollars. Does your computer have a built in card reader? If not, you can buy an external one. Then it's as easy as taking the memory card out of the camera and putting it in the card reader to get the pictures onto your computer. Alternating, some cameras can be plugged in with a USB cable to transfer pictures.
Probably the best way to decide which one you want if you're not camera savy is to go to a store with a wide selection, an electronics store or a store with an electronics section like Target, and look at the cameras on display. Find one that easy for you to use, takes pictures up to your standard, and fits in your budget. If you're having trouble working one, ask an employee to help you out.

Sounds good, thanks! I'm not at all camera savvy, as the last camera I had was a Poloroid to take pics of my Basenji pups. I'm pretty much technology challenged in general, when it comes to computers or anything connected with them. <G>
