Great idea! I don't think I even did a formal intro on the old forum I'm Heather. Originally from Massachusetts, now living in Tallahassee FL. I'm 25 and a 4th year PhD student at Florida State University - studying physical organic chemistry. I should be done this time next year. I have two female cats (Vita and Zoey) and two male ferrets (Jack -sable and Brady - marked DEW). Jack and Brady are both eating a raw diet but we're still working on getting whole prey in there.

I'm Hannah, I'm 26 and a college student...I was going to school for nursing but recently switched to environmental science, I like working with plants a lot better than people and decided in the amount of time I'd spend waiting to get into a good nursing program I can probably finish this degree ;D. My husband and I have 3 cats, 3 ferts, and a couple of freshwater fish tanks, no human babies yet. All our furkids have been on a raw/frankenprey diet since Sept '09 and it's been wonderful, I didn't go through the mentor program but learned practically everything I know through the old forum.

Okay, well, here's mine: I'm sunnyberra (or, you know, Annie works fine, too!). I'm 24, and a graduate student at Radford University in VA. I'm studying School Psychology (Ed.S) and Clinical Psychology (M.A.), and I currently work as an online TA for a reference librarian, as well as working at the reference desk at the Library. I'm also out doing assessments (School Psych), as well as gearing up for a *pre* pre-practicum, so fun all around! I'm single, no kids, but I do take care of my three nieces (6. 4, 2) and have since I was 18 I'm a ferrent to 4 ferrets: Pixie, Yogi, Sian, and Hiko (all raw eating pros, now!) and mama to Ben, the wayward dog. I ... think that's about it, for me! Nice to see everyone again

I'm Amy, I'm 19, and I live with my boyfriend. We both work at Walmart. I've got a mixed little family of 3 toads (will be released in the spring. They're fun to have, but crickets every week is starting to get repetitive, and they're not living to their full potential ) , 2 adult ball pythons, Shadow and Big Guy, a juvenile reticulated python, Jungle (for those of you who don't know, a retic can grow to be between 15-30 feet!) , a baby red-tail boa, Monster, who is finally settling down. She used to strike if you even looked at her or walked by, we can now pick her up with no problem. We also have an adult ribbon snake, and one of her babies. The other 2 have managed to find ways to pass on . We have a pit mix, Patches, and a Lhasa Apso, Jake. There is also a male chinchilla that prefers to have his own space all to himself, as he's very unsocial. We have our 1 year old male ferret, Bandit. We are hoping to be picking up 2 new girls on Thursday that come with a 3 story cage. Just starting to convert Bandit to the raw with the soupies. I am really excited to have found this forum, and I'm actually thinking of converting my dogs too.

I am really excited to have found this forum, and I'm actually thinking of converting my dogs too. Dogs benefit from raw just as much as the fuzzies so that's a great idea. This thread has some good links with info on raw diets for dogs: holisticferret60.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=furfriends&action=display&thread=118And many people on this forum, including myself, feed their dogs raw so feel free to ask any questions on that subject here =)

The dogs will do great! I have my 3 pit's on it and before she passed my elderly Chihuahua, they all loved their "Chicken". That's what I say at dinner time and they all get excited regardless of what's for dinner!

Hi, all. My name is Candice (same as my username) and I have been married to the best guy in the world for two years this coming March 27th. I will be 22 August 3rd. I have over two and a half years experience as an Admin. Assistant under my belt and have also done a few other things but am not currently employed after being laid off at my last job (hallelujah). Work doesn't define me as a person, I'm far happier as a homemaker for my husband and our furry children than anything else. Everyone keeps saying "skin kids"...hahaha....it sounds creepy to me. But we don't have any human children (again, hallelujah). My passion is our pets. We have one half Golden, half Lab mix - Shar, she's 10 (looks like a Flat-Coated Retriever), two Domestic Short Hair black cats, Figaro - 10, Forest - 18 months (kitten from a feral litter), our two Mongolian Gerbils, Fae & Aelwyd, and our last remaining Fancy Mouse, Mirabel - all of which are 1 1/2 years old. Our dog and cats are completely raw-fed (occasional whole prey being birds only since we are rodent fanciers), as will our future ferret be - all our pets receive fresh, species-appropriate nutrition. We will be getting our first Naturally Reared (all raw fed, no vaccines ever) Rough Collie pup about a year from now as well. We don't have our ferret kit yet but should by late spring, early summer from the breeder. I can hardly wait to share him/her with you. Oh, and if I don't sound like I have enough animals yet - we'll be getting some beautiful Fancy Rats in about three months. P.S. If any of you guys are thinking about switching your dogs and/or cats too, it'll be the best thing you could ever do for them! Raw is mind-blowingly amazing. Cats can be tricky but no more so than ferrets. Check out www.rawfedcats.org .

Ok then! LOL Here is my old one LOL!! I never did introduce myself when I joined (even have a mentor ) so I figured I'd do that now. My name is Virginia and I'm 27 years old. I've been married to a wonderful man named Thomas for 8 years. We were one of those sappy love stories. We only dated two months. We have 2 daughters. (Lizzy will be 6 next month and Marlee is 2) We are animal loves for sure. After our cat died Lizzy began begging for a pet. We raise chickens but they don't really fit the bill as something cute and cuddly and they usually are not interested in playing. So I went on a pet finding crusade. My husband already said no way to dogs or anymore cats. I had raised pet rats as a youth and looked into them. the problem is NONE of the shelters around here ever had rats, and the ones you find in the pet store are not friendly because they were not hand raised. I thought of guinea pigs, but they get sick or hurt WAY to easy for my train wrecks for kids. I looked into everything from hedge hogs to chinchillas to even pet foxes. Nothing fit due to how delicate they were to what would need to be done legally to own one. My husband said he had always wanted a ferret and so I went on weeks worth of research. Fell in love with them and here we are three ferrets later. And I feel this "ferret math" creeping up on me again. I feel like My three need another little buddy. I have one little boy and two girls. My first girl, Miko, I got from the pet store. I had intended on a rescue but couldn't find any. After I got Miko I FINALLY found a couple rescues, but I had issues with them because I would call and call and e-mail and e-mail and no one would answer me. Finally I had a woman with her own small rescue contact me and said she had a woman sending her ferrets to find new homes. She told me she would forgo the adoption fee if I could pick them up the next day after they got to her. I agreed and went to pick them up that Sunday. They are Timmy and Zip. They were is HORRIBLE shape! Skinny, dirty and sick. Timmy had a bladder infection. And they were scared of being left in the cage for all eternity. They would freak out at bed time. After a few days some TLC and a trip to the vet they are MUCH better. I've had the two of them for about 3 weeks now. Miko loves her new buddies. They are doing well on the switch to raw. And Zip has decided Lizzy is her fav person. Any way, that's my story. Here is a vid I made of our fuzzes.

I thought I'd do another intro myself. I'm new and since the forum change I've switched to my real name. I was Loveless before.
I'm 29 and currently have 4 furchildren 2 ferrets and 2 rabbits. Yeah a bunny sensitive raw feeder does seem odd... In my free time on the weekends I'm a freelance artist so in some of my fuzzie photos you may see odd things in the background.
As I said before my first ferret Richard adopted me when he waddled trough my open door one hot summer day. After bringing him back to full heath and a month of searching for his owner we gave him up as abandoned and keep him. My male Rex rabbit took a strong love for Richard and Richard did the same. I'm currently trying to get a video of them snuggling. A year later I moved and Richard got a new friend. A young female ferret named Slink. With more time and the new addition I'm switching over for my fuzzies health.
If your curious my other rabbit is a female dutch named Weebles. And through her I learned not all rabbits get along like rabbits. ;D Weebs as a rescue has an extreme dislike for anything male, including my brother. Since my brother is in the produce industry you'll be happy to know my rabbits have a vast natural diet.
