On bones they are doing ok. The bones really seem to not be their favorite thing. SInce this whole thing though they arent really touching the bones now

Bones seem to be an ongoing struggle with many ferrets. They are lazy chewers. If you put a whole wing out how much of the bone will they eat?

Muah! They are eating turkey now the little rats! Hmm If we put a wing out they eat half and throw the other half around. They are sweet like that lol.

Hey at least they eat some first! If you can get some hooks (like something you can fasten to the inside of the cage something like shower hooks) you can pierce the wings or thighs through the hooks so they can't carry them away to stash them. Are they both crunching on bone then?

That sucks. As long as they are not eating sufficient bone keep adding the bone meal or eggshell powder. Maybe the bones are too big and they havent developed jaw strength enough? Get some gizzards and slice them up into strips. See if they eat that bc those are tougher than other muscle meats.
Will they do wing tips?

they actually go to town on gizzards, hearts and liver. they do eat some thigh bones but not much. i think they are just being picky.

Some take longer than others. They are stubborn and are lazy chewers. Most important thing is to keep pushing them to eat bones from chickens or quail, cornish game hens. If they aren't eating enough bone then continue to use bone meal or the egg shells so they get the calcium they need. Or you can feed a balanced raw commercial grind (that has bones in it). Do they like chicken necks? You can cut those into pieces.

I have been cutting thigh bones in three's and they seem to eat some of it. They like it to be smaller. Love our little lazy brats lol. Ive noticed they are SUPER picky. If their foods gets the slightest bit stinky its a no go. We have noticed that their poop isnt the normal fuzzy poop but a darker color. No blood, i checked just dark .... is this normal ? here is a link of poop (sorry) theirs is like the birdseed one minus the seeds lol www.smallanimalchannel.com/ferrets/ferret-health/ferret-poop-sheet.aspxalso their poop doesnt look like a squirt of toothpaste... its more of a blob. texture is more gelatinous id say not mucus like.Could it be maldigestion or malabsorption? Also when they were at the vet at the beginning of the month they tested negative for any parasites in their poop.

It depends what they eat. If the meat digests to fast then you may see bird seed looking poop bc the fat is not digested. Depending what they eat the poop is different each time. Organ poops are dark.
