you may want to go to the vet armed with the frankenprey menu because if they ask about diet (lots of raw feeders avoid that conversation with vets because honestly the folks who teach the nutrition courses at vet school are purina and hills -- Big Pet Food). if they ask, you must emphasize that you are transitioning them over to a balanced raw meat/bones/organs diet. but again alot of people just avoid that conversation because some vets are against raw feeding. i think their main concern is that they do not trust pet owners to properly balance the diet. sounds to me like just summer weight loss then. the warmer temps always do that. as long as they are active, drinking well, etc. i would not be too concerned. main thing to be concerned over is loss of muscle mass, feeling ribs and spine, just TOO thin and not eating. always make sure to peak in at them when they eat so you know that everyone is eating the proper amounts. boys tend to be gluttonous pigs. since we are in full summer mode here, i would not expect any weight loss that would be comparable to what they have already had. after the fall they start to gain their winter weight and they change coats to a nice thick coat. where do you live?

We live in a suburb of Los Angeles called Reseda (about 45 min from Malibu). It is starting to get hot here. Today is in the mid 90's and summers are nasty nothing lower than 90's. Its horrible. I like to call it Satan's Armpit. We will go armed with the Frankenprey menu but I may avoid the conversation lol if we can. Oh by two bowls I meant they get a bowl each We weren't sure the boy was sharing so we did this a while back.

That sounds a lot like our weather here in Miami. I blast the ac year round. My house is cold during summer. I'm not into sweating at home.

Im not into sweating period lol. I HATE HATE HATE the heat. I would blast the AC if i could but it is so d*mn expensive here that for two months you can get a nice 800 dollar electric bill So we just die and when it gets bad blast it or just try to leave and go to the beach or a pool... anything to cool off.

Omg. In the summer our electric bill is like $300 a month. We run the air conditioner 24/7 and the pool pump about 4 hours a day

Were you able to get the eggshells so you can add the proper calcium amount to meat?
You are still using the original raw mush recipe that I posted in the beginning right? But just making it more with slivers/chunks of meat? Has anyone taken to eating actual bone yet?

I forgot to ask you how many proteins are they getting now? Should be minimum of 3 proteins but the more the better.

Hi sorry for being MIA but we still were not able to get the eggshells so instead we are using Bone Meal and they are taking very well with the chunks as well as the soup. We haven't been able to get them more bones lately but we are planning on doing it tomorrow now that we have the bone meal.
As of now for proteins they are only getting beef and chicken chunks with the original raw mush recipe you gave.

Okay. Try making same recipe but use turkey meat. You can still use the chicken hearts and liver in the recipe. But just use turkey for the muscle meat. Pork is another meat you can use. But not smoked or cured pork. Nothing seasoned or anything.

Hello I made the mush with turkey meat and bone meal and now they arent eating it They dont even really want to touch the meat chunks. Everything is fresh. They will lick my fingers and I know they arent sick because they were super active and little monsters early yesterday. Did I do something wrong with the mush or are they just being brats ?

They are being brats. The way we introduce new proteins is exactly how we get them eating the raw chicken mush. Incorporate small amounts of the turkey into the chicken mush that they already like.

What ingredients did you use for turkey mush?

I did everything the same except instead of chicken thighs i used turkey tails.I couldnt find anything but that and the breast was super expensive for some reason. Added some beef liver, chicken gizzards , bone meal 1 tbsp per every 8 oz meat, duk soup and water. All fresh meats or thawed from the freezer so I know it wasnt bad. And what was frozen hasnt been frozen long. Last night I handed the little boy turd a gizzard and he licked it for a min then started to eat it. Our little girl started to eat a little. But when I got up this morning their usual licked clean bowls were still pretty full with meat chunks in it still. So i emptied that and gave them fresh bowls for the day. Little snots.... .png[/IMG] Should I remake the mush but use chicken like usual and just give them slivers of turkey since they are snubbing their noses at turkey mush ? Also, what is their poo suppose to look like? Odd question, i know, but theirs is kinda dark now just want to make sure thats ok.
