1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
I first learned about natural diets when I started researching about Ferrets. I've been looking into switching them heavily for the last month. I want my babies to be happy and healthy.
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to. Be sure to include if you are interested in feeding whole prey (live or frozen-thawed) and if you are wanting to FULLY switch to a natural diet or PARTIALLY. If you are unsure what kind of diet you want to put your ferrets on, please express that and we can help you find the best type of natural diet for your ferret.
I am unsure what kind of raw diet id like them to be on. I know myself well enough that I don't want to have live animals meeting their maker due to my hands even if it is natural so maybe something a bit less raw I'm fine with raw meats, liver, hearts, blood etc.. ok i will get used to the hearts and liver
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
I am interested in switching my little ones to a natural diet because like I said above I want them to be healthy and happy. I also want them to live LONG lives while being healthy and happy. They are young now so i think (hoping/praying) i can achieve this.
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Its not an overnight switch. It can be a commitment of several weeks or even months. Your HF Mentor will be more then happy to assist you in switching your ferret(s) to a natural diet, but you need to be equally as committed. If you aren't willing to tough out a potentially lengthy switching process, or if you have major life changes approaching (baby on the way, moving, starting school, getting married/divorced, etc) then it might be a better idea to wait on switching your ferret's diet until you have more time. Are you willing to make the commitment?
100%
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight? How long have you had each ferret for?
We (bf and I), have two fuzzies. Their names are Cinnamon (girl) and Blaze (boy). Cinnamon is 850 grams and 5 months and Blaze is 1500 grams and 5 months. As of now we know of no health problems. Their last vet trip was two weeks ago for their shots and a check up. According to the vet they are fine in weight.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc)
8 in 1 Ultimate Ferret Crunchy Diet and Marshall Pet Products Premium Ferret Diet mixed with 8 in 1 Ferretvite High Calorie Vitamin Supplement. We do have on hand Marshall Pet Products Ferret Lax Hairball and Obstruction Remedy,8 in 1 Complete Nutrition Ferret Diet (wet) and Marshall Uncle Jim's "Original" Duk Soup Mix Ferret Food Supplement & Dietary Aid.
Treats we had N--Bone Ferret Chew Treats and Marshall Super Chew Ferret Toy. We also had these "peanut butter" things. It looked like cat food mixed with dried fruit.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened?
I have not yet tried to switch them. I have tried getting them to taste meat both cooked and raw and well they walked away from it
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
Well i am an animal lover and my fur babies are my children. I want only the best for them. The above things I know people will have problems with because from what I have read they aren't the greatest. Hence why i am here Some things that may be easy for someone to go to the store to get will take me a little longer to get because I will most likely have to order it.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer?
To much ! 7 days a weeks !
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets (if possible).
I don't have a ton of full body pictures.... But i will get more
******I do have a scale and everything for the makings for the soup
