yeah, an earthworm, I dangled it in front of him and he licked it and he was like lol! we don't use any pesticides in our lawn or our fields so it's pretty safe i would assume, we had some really heavy long rains and they all came out onto the walkway...

That must have been too cute! Maybe try cutting one up and mixing it in with his food? I'm not real familiar with insects as feed, though I know some people on here do feed crickets and another type of worm.

Super worms! But they are crunchy blech! Lol I'll try finding some at a bait shop and starting my own wormy farm for him, I'll cut them up and put soup on it or something to trick him.
Today he got venison muscle meats, early this morning I think he was chewing on a stashed chicken neck.

Hmmm mine are going to be angry at me since I cleaned out their stashes... no more meat jerky. How's lil doomie doing?

Doomie is doing good, he seems like he is improving every day, he's accepting changes better and not seemingly getting stressed out about it (adding things to the cage, re-arranging them, cleaning stashes of kibble) and he's eating a lot, he does do this wierd thing where he takes a piece of kibble, and eats it over his water bowl, effectively filling it halfway up with mush over the course of a day... His energy is up, he's not very vocal, not like loki anyway, he's vocal when loki is beating him up however but so far so good i think. Today is day seven that he has been eating that kibble, his poops are consistent, water intake is consistent, he's using the litter box pretty darn well, he misses here and there, maybe once a day when they are out in the rooms they have, but in his cage he's nearing 100% neither of them use the nice big litter box i made for behind the couch though... we should be going back to the vet in 3-4 more days, it just depends on our schedule, we will have his blood work redone, and see where he is at with it, i'm hoping that the anemia, and the phos/calc levels have straightened out. That's funny they get mad about stash raiding... i had loki hissing at me this morning when i reached into his stash box... he doesn't bite or lunge but he shares that he is discontent with what i'm doing lol! also they have both been really good about hard biting, we haven't had timeouts or anything very often. Doomie is a bar biter, it worries me when he does that so i make sure he is sleeping before i go to bed... if he isn't then he freaks out, Loki just accepts it, gorges on a few hunks of meat and hits the sack lol...

That's great to hear, sounds like he was probably shell shocked. As he settles in his personality will come out more and he'll begin to shine. I've had babies do the water dish with kibble thing, it's so annoying. They tend to grow out of it.
Bar biting seems to really be a wardy thing, my deaf girl is terrible about it. I have to put her in the cage, turn off the lights and walk out so she'll stop. you can also cover the cage with a blanket and it might help. Worst thing you can do is acknowledge their tantrum, gotta ignore it or they'll learn to do it just to get your attention.

Yeah, I kinda treat him like a toddler lol... Lights out shut the door, and within 2-3 min he usually cuts it out, it's not as bad when I let the. Co habitate though, when they wake up early, or I put them to bed and they aren't suite sleeping they play more so it's good that way. However... Loki wakes up before him sometimes and I hear an early morning squeal Loki is eating large chunks of venison, and chicken wing tips, game hens got in short supply because of Easter he is loving the red meats though, I haven't found mice I'm satisfied with yet I've been looking for small breeders in the area to get a colony started with. I would imagine a small turkey neck isn't too big to gnaw at for him?

Turkey necks are great for them, just cut it into 1-2" sections with a cleaver so they can manage it better. Mine won't touch a whole neck but they'll fight for it once it's made into chunks.

Well I'm going to try to convince him those are good, he wasn't quite sure about it earlier, I'm going to mix it around with some of the chicken wings to get it smelling right maybe.

Yeah, has he not had turkey before? Mine were a bit iffy on it initially. Once they had it mixed in a few times they were ok with it. Now we eat it every week mixed in with our other yummies.

No, this is his first bit of turkey, I didn't think his jaw strength would have been adequate before... In was thinking now hw might... He eats the wing tips pretty well, I did notice a few bone shards in his poop however. The main own was a longer piece, I mean I know they are meant to handle it, but it was a chunk of wing tip, slender, and about 1 cm long.

That is a pretty good size, I've never found a shard that big. But most of mine are chewers who relax and gnaw their bones like a dog would for pure enjoyment. Sounds like someone might have been a piggy and eaten too fast, lol. Murder did that once, tried to swallow wing tips whole and had to cough them back up, the idiot.
Might just keep an eye on Loki to see if he's eating too fast. In our case, there are competing males who all want the same tidbit. In yours I'm not sure, unless he's just so hungry as a kit he's gobbling things down and hasn't learned to pace himself.

The next time I see one ill take a picture of it, it kinda startled me, it was partially digested it was partially digested because it was somewhat soft... But I think you're right he's a piglet... He goes through a wingtip in a matter of a few minutes...

I haven't heard much about bones puncturing internal things, generally the main danger is cooked bone or them getting one caught in their throat and choking if they ate too fast, but I suppose it could be possible. I'd think he couldn't get it down if it were too large though.

Yeah, general rule I suppose if they can get it down (as long as its raw food) they can get it out lol...
What are some other ideas for bone in meals, many of their meals need to be bone currently while transitioning he's had turkey necks, mostly he picked the bones clean he did consume much of it though. Chicken wing tips, whole game hens (though they are pretty much the same as a chicken) he will eventually get mice, and possibly rats, rabbit as well.
