The vet found a spot on the roof of his mouth that looks like a scratch, might explain why he's not been wanting to crunch bones. I'm thinking boneless meals for a few days and treating with colloidal silver, what do you think?

That sounds like a good idea. Give him a week, but do use powdered eggshell in the interim.

Okay so for the next few days he's getting pain meds, pumpkin, bone meal, and reishi...he won't even be able to taste the meat. ;D

I haven't forgotten about the thread, I promise. He's eating well, I'm still skipping the bone-in meals until I know that scratch in his mouth is healed.

It should only take about a week at most. Sinnead cut her tongue almost in half, and it was healed but for a white scar in a week.

He's back on bone-in meats and thankfully didn't turn his nose up at them after having boneless for a few days.

Excellent! Can you refresh me again on exactly WHAT he's eating now? Bone in, heart, organ(liver, kidney, etc), and proteins?

I missed this post, I was away and laptopless, sorry! He's still eating well. Small parts but I don't mind cutting it up as long as he's eating and getting enough bone. I plan on starting him on beef on Sunday and that will be his Sunday meal rather than repeating CGH or pork. I really think he's losing his taste for chicken, though, he tends to turn his nose up at it.

Can't blame him- he's totally bored with it by now I find if I have to feed it for 3 meals in a row, by that 3rd meal, everyone is tired of it and barely eat ;D Okay, let me know how he does with the beef, and we really need to get a proper menu set up. Also- can you find some kidney, lung, any other organ?

He seemed to take right to beef. He spat out the first piece but then I held him up so he couldn't stash the next one and once he realized it tasted good I was able to hand feed him a pretty good meal of it. I may end up doing beef 2 days a week and chicken for only one. I will keep an eye out for other organ sources.

That's excellent! And sorry to harp on this, but we need to start getting his diet properly balanced
