Bad. I spent forever breaking up some chicken wings for them with a meat grinder. And they didn't want to eat them at all.

Really? How small were the bones? Did you try hand feeding the pieces? You may need to do some heavy hand feeding for a bit to convince them that they are edible. Have you tried hand feeding bits of the marrow? The marrow is like candy - once they know it is food... I'll poke the other mentors' brains for ideas...

Oh they weren't totally ground up, the mincer only snapped the bones of the chicken wing tips so that it was all exposed.

Or an Ulu? This was Sherry's reply: To be honest- tough love is how I got mine eating bone. I used a chicken wing, segmented it, cut between the two middle bones, cut lengthwise down the drum être as best I could. That was what they got for 3 days running. Every 24 hours a new set of cut up wings was out in, old removed.

Try this. Take a neck or wing, chop the bejeepers out of it until it's almost a mince and give it that way to start. Over time, and I do mean the course of a month chop less and less. As in after a week of the mince, chop a larger mince, etc.

I could send you an ulu (I LOVE mine), they are only $3 here. But I don't remember how much shipping to AUS is. A lot of people use a mallet or heavy hammer to smash the bones to pieces.

I don't expect them to make any progress until you do. Get a hammer and a hard surface (garage floor, kitchen floor and a wooden chopping board...) and a pack of chicken wings. Smash the crap out of the wings - Pulverize them. Then use a knife (something like a meat cleaver would work well, but whatever knife you usually use should be fine) and cut the wings into smaller pieces.
