Jeremy has shown some improvement over the last week on antibiotics but not a lot. He isn't falling over or wheezing but is still weak, not eating well & having difficulty with bowl movements. The vet is having us monitor his bg and if that isn't it then we may be looking at a serious liver condition. Coontail had a hard time over the weekend but is doing better now. I'll post his new bucket list pictures a bit later.

We have ruled out insulinoma with Jeremy. I'm trying to get a hold of the vet to talk about what test we can run to confirm his liver disease theory. If it is what the vet suspects we will be letting him go. I may take him to Birmingham for a second opinion.
update I spoke with the vet. Jeremy is going in for xrays & full blood panel tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it is something treatable.

Hoping you get good news about Jeremy and that a treatment can be found so that he can still have some quality time with you all

The x-rays told a very sad story of abuse & neglect by Jeremy's previous owners. His pelvic had not just been injured like we thought, it had been crushed. They also had broken bones in his spine at his shoulders & neck. The vet said that at the time of the injuries he would have been paralyzed. The injuries are causing severe nerve damage & arthritis that is getting progressively worse and will continue to do so. He did not respond to steroids. He is not in pain but the nerves controlling his bowels are failing. We may be able to get a week for my son to say goodbye. His bucket list will be posted soon.

I am sorry to hear that the news for Jeremy was not good.
While I am old enough that I am no longer surprised at the appalling actions of the human race I am also confirmed in my belief that animals are so much more enlightened than we are. The fact that wee Jeremy can have been through what he must have been through and yet still not only trust ahuman again but find it in his heart to love still is nothing short of amazing.
My thoughts are with you all as he enjoys what time he has with you and works his way through his bucket list.

When I was a kid I adopted an iguana who had toes missing from freaking frost bite. He was such a sweetie. I'm sad to say that this kind of abuse isn't surprising to me anymore . I'm so glad he found you to have some love in his life.

Jeremy is hanging in. I'm hand feeding him as he isn't eating on his own now. Crash knows he is dying & is already showing signs of depression.
