Lol! I just now read your message Sherry, and I was about to share yet another success story!
First of all, Lyla's always loved raw chicken. She sees it as a treat I think, because I give her a small piece when I cook some and she loves it, but stops eating after 3-4 small pieces... I guess it's filling... So this afternoon, I took the chicken for the soup out and gave Lyla a few small pieces, she ate em all up! I offered some to Meeko - she raised her nose as if I was presenting garbage to her... lol! I didn't expect anything else from her though...
So, in the evening, there I am, dumping everything in the blender, I put the cap on, I start to blend - EWWW, it looks nasty!! hahaha!!! I let it blend until I don't see any spots of different color. Then, I open it up, it almost looks like the milkshake I made the other day .... 0.o Only, it's a bit more pink
Then, I get their food bowl, I take a small spoonful and dump it in. Then, I realize "Oh wait, maybe that's too much.... it's about the half of what I usually feed them..." Then, I decide "Oh well, if they don't like it I will reduce the amount next time..." So I add in about the same amount of freeze dried, some water, and mix it all up. I add the final touch of a few pieces of Ziwipeak, and I put it in the cage.
Meeko just went to sleep after eating a few kibbles, I wake her up and show her the food. She looks at it. Sniffs it. She raises her nose a bit. So I think "Here we go, she doesn't want it. She knows I added something it it, crap! Oh well!" Then, she sniffs it again... AND SHE LICKS IT!!! Her head goes up again. So I think "Well, if she wasn't sure from the smell, now she's sure it's different from the taste... Oh well! It was worth a try!". Then, she looks at the mixture again, AND SHE GOES ALL IN!!! SUCCESS!!!!!!!!
I am so proud of my girls <3 Then, I wake up Lyla, and of course she's all over it as well!
YAY!!! I've done it!
PS: Meeko's health still seems to be holding up! Everything is looking good for now!! Tonight, I couldn't be happier! Thanks everyone!!!!
Love,
Sandra, Lyla & Meeko
