Bruce ate about 2.5 ounces of chunks this morning, Wade ate about 1.5 oz of soup with me feeding it to him. I was scared to do it but maybe I'll try taking the kibble away for a long time and see if he'll eat it better because he's hungry..is that ok? I feel mean doing that

Yes that sounds like a good idea for wade. Try taking his kibble away in the morning, offering him soup in the afternoon and again in the evening and see if he is more willing. He is making progress though!! With Bruce try to take just a couple of pieces of wing with bone and hide it in his soup. Cut the pieces to make his chunks.
I'm going out of the country for a week but I'll try to check in and I'm going to ask the other mentors to keep an eye on this thread.

Have a great time! Seriously, enjoy your trip and don't worry about checking on here!
Bruce ate about 2oz of small chunks this evening, still avoiding the bone pieces. Wade got kibble overnight last night but not in the am, so he ate about 1.5 oz of the soup with me doing scruff and stuff. This boy is so stubborn

I'll be going out of town on Wednesday morning and coming back Sunday night. A friend of mine is going to be house sitting to take care of my zoo. Should I be posting updates from what my friend tells me the boys are eating?

Hey! My friend says my boys are doing great! Bruc is eating like a pig but he hasn't been able to get Wade to eat the raw. I'm not that surprised, I have to sit with him for a while to get him to eat. Hope you are having a blast!

I had a wonderful time. I hope your trip was fun too! Wade is being quite the little pain hmm.. Once you try hiding the bone in Bruce meat let me know how it goes.

Hi! Glad to hear you had a great time! Yes, Wade is blowing my mind with how stubborn he is. I got him to eat from my hand when I got home last night. I think that might have been because Bruce ate all the kibble in the cage that my friend has put in that morning so Wade was probably starving...but he ate it! I hid some small pieces in Bruce's food last night, I didn't see any this morning before I left for work! So unless he hid them he ate them, I'll look through the cage when I get home, today is cleaning day anyway. On a side note that has nothing to do with food, I've noticed they have become very snuggly with each other. When we first brought Bruce home they played but kinda did their own thing. Now I see them sleeping together a lot...it's so adorable.

I've been giving Wade kibble overnight only and I've seen a big difference. He is definitely eating the soup more willingly. He ate about an ounce this morning and he ate almost 2 in the evening.
Bruce is eating the little pieces now but only if I hide them

How is their weights? As long as they are not losing I would keep taking the kibble away and only giving it once a day for another week and then try going without it completely.

Ok sounds good. I will weigh them in the morning, they are cuddling with me right now. Bruce is definitely good to go though and with Wade his hips are becoming less pronounced and I feel a big difference when I hold him, just in this past week really I saw a big improvement, very exciting

Wow that is fabulous considering how much Wade lost when he was ill. Your doing great! Are you only using one protein in your soup or do you mix it up? I'd try offering Bruce some whole grinds and see what he does.

Wade is continuing to do well! Eating about 2oz of soup from my finger morning and evening. I'm so happy to see his weight back up, it's a huge relief. Bruce is doing well with the small bits also. I've only been using chicken really but I can try something different I'll go to the market Friday. Any suggestions?

Pork and lamb are good to try, rabbit is a bit more gamey tasting but some really go for it too. I would start giving Bruce a chance to try a bit of any new meat you buy for yourself before cooking, fish, beef, pork, my little Nadia loves raw shrimp.
