Well raw is the best way to put weight on him but I don't want to stress him after all he has been through so I'd just encourage him to eat whatever he will, keep him well hydrated and give him a couple of weeks to recoop. If he is eating a couple table spoons of raw soup a day, great, if not then we will let him recover and try again. Poor boy having the nasty poops will take it right out of them. I'm so glad Bruce is doing good! You can try slivers of organs too. See if you can add less soup and more chunks.

Yeah. I'm gonna give Wade some recovery time. I'm adding the carnivore care into his food like you suggested and he gets a probiotic as well. Poor guy just needs some more time to bounce back.
I'll add organ slivers to Bruce's pm meal and let you know how it goes! Its definitely like night and day with these two diet wise.

Hey! Bruce ate slivers of the chicken, heart, and liver. He weighs 950g! He is really putting on some weight On the downside he weighs more than poor Wade now. Wade has gained weight since he's been home, 20g, so he now weighs 940g

Hey we will take any bit of weight gain we can get! You can try offering Bruce raw egg too, see if he likes that. It's generally well accepted and good for building muscle!

Do I give him the egg with his food or just the egg by itself?

Either or. Egg by itself will give him some funky stools but it's okay

I was going to try the egg today, when I got home from work I discovered I now have an ant problem! I searched the forum and I'm gonna try cinnamon. So by the time I had vacuumed like five times and cleaned the cage and the entire room I had forgotten I was going to try giving an egg. Bruce ate two ounces this morning of the soup with slivers of chicken, heart, and liver in it. Its also a lot less soupy now.
He ate 1.5 oz this evening. Wade is still eating his kibble but he does come over and sniff while Bruce is eating. I'm hoping after he gets the bounce back in he step we get get back to the raw food. I see such a huge difference between my two guys, wish Wade could talk so I could let him know he would feel so much better if he would just eat it. I'll give him the time he needs though. I know that eventually he will take it.

Hey Amanda! I once again failed to try the egg BUT it will for sure be on my list of things to do tomorrow. I had Sherry and Poncesmom giving me some advice on my thread asking about the green poop when Wade first got sick. I was gonna tag you in my response but I didn't know how...lol Bruce ate 2 oz in the am. He literally licked to bowl clean. I love it! I'm gonna start with the raw again with Wade on Monday. He's put a little weight back on and seems to be feeling a little better every day. Bruce ate 2 oz pm. Thicker raw soup with slivers of chicken, heart, and liver like am. He ate everything! He's growing a lot now, I'm so amazed at how much weight he is putting on and how healthy he looks. Praying my sweet boy Wade won't be far behind! Bruce: 995g Wade: 950g

Woohoo! Bruce is on a roll. You can try getting a chicken wing or drummette and smashing the bone up a bit and seeing what he does with it.
As for Wade, monday sounds like a good time to try again. Sorry for not responding sooner, it's been such a mad house here and work has been h*ll, homework constant lol.. I run from one thing to another I swear! But I am on FB so if you ever have a question you want answered sooner you can PM me.

Oh well, you may be able to sneak it into some soup. Eggs are really good for them at shedding time to help prevent hairballs. I give 2 whole eggs per week per ferret. Usually its a little afternoon pick me up snack for my kiddos. They are little piggies though and love to be fed an afternoon snack.
How's Wade doing weight wise? appetite? Looks like he was picking back up which is good.

Bruce is doing well still, I'll try to sneak some egg in with his next meal. He's 1001g Wade I'm not sure about. He's back down to 920g. Not what I was expecting to see

You could go ahead if his poops are back to normal and see if you can get him to try and eat soupie. If his stools are still funky I'd consider a probiotic and maybe some egg shell or bone meal powder to firm them up. If he continues to lose weight I would take him back to the vet for a recheck.

AM: Got about half an ounce of soup into Wade's mouth. Been really vigorous making sure he's been eating well since my last post. Bruce ate 2 oz of soup with small chunks. Offered Bruce a chicken wing and he wanted nothing to do with it. He came over and checked it out but he didn't try to eat any of it.
PM: Wade ate about half an ounce of soup with me doing stuff and scruff. I weighed him and he is 980g! His poops are still a little weird but nothing at all like before! He's been sleeping a lot, they both have I feel like. Thats part of winter though right? I've been separating Bruce from him while he's eating his kibble so I can make sure Bruce isn't eating it and that Wade is getting enough to eat. Bruce weighs 1005g. I offered him the wing again in my hand and he didn't eat any of it. I left it on a dish and he just left it there. When I put the soup with chunks in though he ate it right up. Whats the best way to show him that this is also food?
