Tomorrow morning I'm picking up our newest addition (who will be Willy or Mischief - I will know once I get to hold him). He recently lost his pal too, and the owner is surrendering him right after because she is moving. I know I will have 2 grieving ferrets on my hands, but I'm *hoping* perhaps naively, that the new boy will help Trixie and vice versa since the new boy has a disposition similar to Rocket (passive, sweet). Pictures to come (so many pictures!) He is 2 years old, kibble fed. No idea on color or size at this point. My husband is excited to have another male in the house (since our 2 ferrets are girls, I have a female dog, and a male dog - but he is mine ). So excited! The owner of ferret seems loving & well meaning. She wants updates too, so I feel like he is coming from a good home. She has given me lots of info on his personality, energy, eating, etc so I have a baseline. So much excitement

It certainly seems that quite often, when a little one moves over the Rainbow Bridge, they keep an eye out on us. They find someone who needs the Love that they received and put them directly in our path. I'm happy that Rocket is watching over you, Trixie and Bear and now the new little boy. Congratulations and it will be fun to hear all about him, and of course, pictures pretty please.

My phone isn't letting me add pictures at the moment, but I will definitely make sure to get some up. He is such a cutie! I hope Trixie takes to him, apparently the new boy is a snuggler & passive like Rocket. At the very least Bear loves & plays with anyone willing And of course I already love him to pieces.

Just picked up our new fuzzy, he is definitely a "Willy" Very sweet, big boy. The owner was very sweet, cried & hugged me, thanked me over and over for giving him a good home. I started to cry, too. He is in great health (for a kibble ferret), eating Zupreem, not great, but not Marshalls either. As soon as we get home I'm introducing him to raw . He has seen a vet & UTD on everything, pearly whites, and full of kisses. So, so happy. Bear will love this giant lug, and Trixie will have a nice, gentle cuddle buddy (Bears sweet, but more akin to a tornado ).

I introduced them briefly. It was disastrous. I have my hands full for sure, but I am optimistic it will get better.
Trixie is grieving Rocket. Willy is grieving his pal Harry AND being rehomed. Tension is high, so I'm waiting to reintroduce them until I get rescue remedy.
Willy is a big boy - about 4lbs (marked white). Incredibly sweet & cuddly with me & my husband. Was the submissive ferret in his previous pair, but from the get go he attacked Trixie & Bear (no blood, but fear defecating). However, Trixie was fast to try to assert dominance, she was too tiny for follow through.
But again, I'm not worried. I'm going to let everyone settle in, rest & recoup. Pick up some RR tomorrow morning & try again.

Well, I put RR in the water bowls. Hopefully when I get home from work, my fuzzies are a touch less anxious. Willy is a very sweet boy - loves to sit at my feet and look at me to cuddle him. However the tension is still really high, especially between Bear & Willy. I took them outside on leashes, hoping the new environment would preoccupy them. It did for a bit, but if Willy goes any where near Bear, she jumps into fight mode, and he gets defensive and they fight. Bear is squeaking before anything happens. We're going to wait a few days before trying to introduce them again. In the meantime we are putting fencing down the middle of the room so no one has to be caged & they can sniff through the bars. Trixie has taken to biting me out of nowhere recently Bust busy. Wouldn't have it any other way. I love Willy, and it will work out (eventually).

Willy is a big handsome boy. He's doing well considering all the poor fellow has been through. The walk sounds like a very good idea, maybe if you do that for a few days, they'll associate each other with walkies.
Little Trixie seems to be expressing her emotions, lucky you.
I'm sure you can make it all work well. You're a sweet and loving ferrent and they are all lucky to have you. :wave3:

Awwe, thank you! That means a lot. There are certainly days where I stand outside their room going "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!?" It's a good thing they don't speak, in case they ask for a pony I'm going to do 2 walks a day with Bear & Willy. I've got to make a harness to fit wee Trixie though.

I don't know how small your Trixie is, but they make harness' small enough for rats. So you night be able to find one already made. I found a rat harness that was actually a size small, which fit my friend's wee sprite. She was so happy because she could finally take her ferret on walks.

Trixie is 1.4lbs, she'd only be a pound, if it wasn't for her very large pancreas (idiopathic). But I will check you the rat harnesses for sure! Thank you!!
My local petsmart has gotten rid of so much if their small animal stuff, especially ferrets. All they carry is cheap kibble, ferritone, and a few hammocks - so I've had to do a lot of DIY, or online shopping.
