If you go to the right pet store they might order you one. Try and measure her if you can... They should be willing, especially if it's a little store owned by a family or something similar xx

Diy is the best though! You get to make exactly what you want and it's cheaper xx

All of my current hammocks I made - its ridiculous how much they charge for a square of material. I got to make them all sorts of cool patterns too! I love DIY. Other than our ball pit (dollar store kiddy pool with Walmart balls) everything is DIY, including the cage. Unfortunately, the small family petstore here knows nothing about ferrets. when she was trying to help me with food she kept picking out stuff with lots of veggies & was shocked when I said ferrets eat meat ONLY. I need to open my own ferret store

Hahaha awww that's awful. I don't think the little pet shop up the road really knew anything about them either, I just got lucky with their supplier having what I wanted. It's probably different there though you're right. That's a shame! Xx

I made my fuzzies a dig box today out of dirt. Bear and Willy absolutely love it! (though not at the same time - yet). I will upload pictures the second I'm at my laptop, because its too funny & too adorable not to share. As cute as the dirty covered faces are, I will be searching for a different material for them to dig in. Messy messy ferrets.

Willy LOVES the dig box- likes to bury his face in the dirt. Bear also loves the dig box, but she moves so much I couldn't get a picture. She does this weird motion, where she leans back, and pulls the dirt towards her with her front paws, then runs through the pile Willy & Bear will make a fantastic duo, once they get past their differences! I'm not sure that the RR is working, what would I be looking for as far as behavior/energy, etc?

Awww! A mucky ferret is a happy ferret (in this instance at least)...
Rescue remedy is an interesting one because it's not a sedative or stimulant anything like that so the changes are subtle and it's a bit hard to explain. They'll be more relaxed (not drowsy) and less negatively reactive. I don't know how to explain it. It's like if you are really tense and you get a massage. It helps them to cope, as it were xx

Willy hasn't eaten since the day we brought him home. I've only been giving him to kibble he came with, until he settles in. He is drinking, playing, lots of energy... But won't touch his kibble, even if hand fed. I watered it down, eventually syringed him some, because he has lost a bit of weight. We brought him home Monday around 2pm, its now Thursday is he still not eating from settling in?

Could be a mixture of that and mourning his friend... Did he eat what you syringed him? Xx

I had to scruff him & put the syringe in his mouth, but when I pushed the food out he licked & swallowed it.
I know it isn't uncommon for animals to stop eating when they get to their new homes. I'm just more wary with ferrets since they have such quick metabolisms.

Yeah totally understand. For a little while you may have to syringe/spoon feed him... What do others think? Maybe someone with more expertise will disagree with me. But keeping things light hearted should help too, and keep up with the RR xx

Try offering him a soupie (following the recipe here inmthe intro files), it is more nutritious than the kibble, and it'll keep him full for longer. Good luck with the intros, I'm going through an ugly one myself, I know how stressful it can be, for us and them at the same time...

Ugh, Willy won't touch anything mushy, soft, watered down, etc. I tried feeding him soup, as well as just watered down kibble, and I had to force feed him. Yesterday though, I couldn't shake how weird it was that he wouldn't eat the food he came with. I thought maybe he knows I have something better, so I put some Orijen in his bowl. I also lined up pieces of kibble on him while he slept He ate all the kibble off himself, plus only ate the Orijen out of the bowl. Weird little fuzzy.
