He woke up I checked his poop and normal amount normal consistency and his wonderful playful mischievous self I'm soon releived. I will watch him closely during the day to be sure he is still good.

Mucousy poops can indicate a bowel upset. Even a little fur can cause an upset. Mucous is a natural protection. That one looks brown but I'm not sure if it looks muscousy or jelly like. A ferret has a fast digestive track and so what did he eat 3-4 hours ago? 4 days ago he was coughing, 21 hours ago he vomited, 17 hours ago he had a thin poop. 2 hours ago he had this funky poop. Did it smell? I'm tagging Sherry and Heather. I'd like them to weigh in. Don't ever worry about discussing poop or vomit. It's all part of ferrenting and none of us mind a bit.

It didn't smell bad at all. The mucus was almost a peachy color. He has pooed twice today. That bothers me. He ate just his food. Nothing else. But then again if they poop every 3-4 hours then he missed like what, one poop from this morning?

It's the same food then. What is it he eats, remind me please. No smell is good. Has he been vaccinated recently. That can result in a peachy color poop. Though his did not look whipped or foamy.

I don't see Heather, Sherry or Unclejoe online. They should check in soon though. It's a little early in the day for Sherry and Heather still. I'll keep this bumped up front and keep an eye on this thread.

I know this isn't ideal for him to eat but until I can get set up for raw feeding he is eating purine kitten chow. No vaccinations recently. Just what he had to come home from pet store. No it's not foamy.

He probably is, the little smart fellow. Once he goes, post another picture if you can. Watch him for straining. If he poops, then it's time for poop inspection. Look thru it, just in case and see if anything is in it, that should not be there.

Sorry I didn't post. It looked the same but the mucus stuff was throughout. He didn't strain, at least it didn't seem. What does that look like in a ferret ? Lol I looked through and didn't see anything.

They make little faces and look rather like us, at those times when we can't go. TMI (shy) Good, no sign of foreign objects. This just seems to be related to his other issues of coughing and vomiting. IBD is a possiblity. Chicken is a common cause of IBD. Ferrets can develop an intolerance or allergy to chicken. The kitten chow uses chicken by products and that is what he eats. I'm wondering if that is causing him bowel distress, which can result in IBD. Irritable bowel disease. I'm not the best on medical issues here. We want someone who is, to weigh in. Again, I'm keeping an eye out on this thread.

If this is a kibble poop, I guess it's ok. If it's a raw stool...it's way too dry and you need to cut back on the bone ciao
