Crap I forget to upload those pics to my computer yet, totally forgot until I got on here lol. I should be able to do it tomorrow though. I know there's a thread on here with some of that kind of info but not nearly the variety of meats and options as yours has. It's fascinating how much variety between meats there is for nutrients, really makes clear why we harp on feeding different proteins.
Turkey necks are a hard chew, I know some ferrets do it but mine just do not so I think they have to be in a certain mood to tackle those, I wouldn't take it too badly that they ignored it this time. I couldn't even get my crew to try duck or chicken necks, but if I offer grouse or quail, really small necks they head for them first! You could smash it up and try offering it again if you wanted to.
More quiz time-when you are picking out meats, is it better to buy dark or white meats, and fatty or lean cuts?

thanks, i was a bit worried about that turkey necks, but they do eat chicken now (even the neck), so they are getting enough bones. i did smashed it up, but they're still refusing it. Baylis eat the meat off the neck, but Oscar won't touch it. i cut every bone 1,5-2cm big.
this was our last week menu: monday: rabbit organs - chicken wings tuesday: pork brain + pork heart - rabbit neck wednesday: pork heart - rabbit ribs thursday: lamb meat - rabbit backs friday: chicken drumstick (some of the bones is left)- turkey necks (total failure..) so i left some rabbit backs in the cage and they ate some) saturday: chicken gizzards with the rabbit meat - chicken wings sunday: rabbit drumstick - chicken necks
did i miss something? and two more questions, what is the pork button, and when can i give them the egg? in the meat day?

sorry, about the quiz.. i do prefere to buy dark meat, but as you said. variety in meat is good, so everything of above is good to give them. every part of the animal should be given to them cause every piece has in it something that they need.

I believe pork button is a cut that just has the very end of a rib in it, it can be smashed up and eaten but it's such a small amount I wouldn't count it as bone in unless they are eating super boney cuts besides.
Your menu looks great, good bone in, organs, variety is excellent. Most people feed egg as kind of an "extra" and don't really count it, you can skip a muscle meal if they eat a ton of it though. I have to sneak it into soup to get mine to really eat it.
And yes absolutely if you can get whole animal, every part should be given. A lot of people can't manage that and for those feeding mostly frankenprey we recommend more dark meats and fattier, some seem to be stuck in fat=bad but ferrets need a fair amount in their diet for energy and good coats. So it's a balancing act, main thing is don't get caught in a rut and feed the same cut week in and week out.

Wow on both counts! I'll have to jump on facebook and look. I've been swamped with work the past couple days but should be on tomorrow night and try to find you a couple more grad questions and then we will work on a final sample menu and see if the other mods think you are ready to fly free!

i'm uploading the video right now and you should see Oscar soon Nyx - 860g Baylis - 765g Oscar - 1530g Nyx is eating a bit less for the last two days, but it's not alarming. the weather is changing again, we have an autumn weather, windy, rainy and temperatures droped for 10'Celsius. she's sleeping more, but when she's awake, playful as usual.

today was a brain in their menu. i mixed it with the small amount of mince, they ate a lot. Nyx is still on the mince with the meat chunks, she'll probably never start with bigger pieces... i'm offering, but she refuses to eat.

Never say never, we've had a few on mince who've decided after months to join in and eat bone and chunks like they've been doing it all along. Hpw the heck are you getting turkey necks chopped up so small? I hate trying to chop them in half. I've got some nice hen necks, maybe I should try chopping it smaller and see if I can get Hannibal to eat it lol.
Brain is such an awesome organ to feed-I'm so jealous you have access and they like it. This is a pretty easy question but can you name 3 different organ meats?

Oh my gosh that's terrible! You were not affected though? '
I actually tried to reply last night but my laptop sucks and closed the page, I got annoyed and didn't come back. Was going to say it's crazy how much of a sweat you can build up just making meals on raw, I've had to invest in some new, sharp utensils since switching.
Ok so I just need you to make a sample weekly menu with your meat and organ options to show you know how to balance. And we recommend keeping track like you do here for awhile, after a bit it becomes very second nature but in the beginning good to have something to look on and double check. I laugh now finding my little charts for everyone, I had lists of what and when to feed my dogs, the ferrets, my cat, so detailed and now it's like, grab a little of this and a little of that...
