he didn't, he probably ate too much meat.
i bought few rabbits today, and i spent whole afternoon cutting them, so they got only fresh rabbit today. they enjoyed! i gave Oscar biger chunks than yesterday, but i had to cut it again because he wasn't eating.

He ate once you cut it? I've been tempted to try rabbit myself, heard it's pretty good. Ferrets certainly love it.

yes, he ate it. they all just love the rabbit meat now, but there was a problem in the beginning with Oscar and Baylis till they accepted it. i'm going on a vacation tomorrow morning with my furballs and i'll be back on sunday evening. i don't know if i'll be able to post every day, just to inform you we're going to visit Oscar's parents and brother, and i'm so excited! can't wait (dance) they got liver yesterday and organs today, so i don't have problems with their eating during the trip.

here we are! Nyx - 895g Baylis - 780g Oscar - 1495g since i've been giving him the bones and biger chunks Oscar is eating less, but you warned me about that and i don't care too much as long as he's acting normally. he lost some more weight, but not too much. the spring, the trip and everything else, i'm not surprised. girls are great, only Baylis had a diarhea that day we were coming home. i've kept my eye on her whole day yesterday, her stools were great. it was probably from the stress. Nyx was great all the time during our trip. i expected to have more problems with her since she's reacting on stress extremely, i even took the Bach's rescue remedy for her, but there's no need to use it. 4 days of good (farents) people + great food + bunch of ferrets + great fun = formula for successful holidays. the only thing i regret is it didn't last longer we visited lots of people from our ferret community (and their ferrets, of course), and i can count 21 ferret without my three

Wow did you get pics of all the other ferrets? It sounds like a great vacation and everyone handled it well, the runny poo I would chalk up to normal travel stress. So how comfortable do you feel feeding raw now, you are getting pretty advanced in the switch and probably fairly close to graduation!

i do feel comfortable now, after all that stressful time during the switch. i'm even surprising myself . i have to tell you that i'm helping other farents in switching their ferrets to raw and it's going very well with them. it all makes me very happy! more fuzzbuts on raw! i have to find a time to put some pics on the forum, from the vacation and from my friends ferrets

i went with Nyx to Ljubljana today to the vet, all the blood checks are more then great! only eosinophyles are little bit high, but not much, they were much higher before. we will check them every month, and i am soooo so happy! :boing: i've told him again she's on raw, this time he was satisfied with that and he didn't tell anything against raw feeding like he used to. Oscar is eating the pork heart now, we will see next week is this just a coincidence and hunger, or he accepted it

Great news on Nyx, what a relief I bet. It's always good to have some real numbers in hand, even if the pet looks and seems fine, to know that everything is working right and improving. Maybe it's even convincing your vet a bit.
Nice that you are getting some others to switch over, just make sure to let them know to join the forum or facebook if they need assistance (if they speak English) Pretty much everyone I know in person with ferrets either gives really bad care or think kibble is good enough. A girl I went to high school with and had ferrets back then, her and her family still do and we re-connected a few years ago, they had no idea what insulinoma or adrenal was, weren't taking them to the vet. They love them but were so uninformed and little desire to improve on what they had been doing. Depressing.
Anyways, so you get a little quiz time since I think you are pretty close to graduation. Do you know which meats other than heart are high in taurine?

our ferret community president and vicepresident (Petra and me) are on the forum we are working hard to inform all the farents, we have our facebook page too (two of them), and we are telling everyone who want to switch their ferrets to raw to look at HFF. they are only reading since they're not so good to english (me neither but i'm trying )and they don't know how to corespond with others. it's a bit difficult to ask for a mentor if you cannot ask what you need, and google translator is so bad in translating. few of them had their ferrets on raw, but not balanced. i've helped them with weekly menu plans. now i can understand what a good is feeling to help others who want their best for animals about the quiz... any meat has a taurine, but high in taurine, except the heart, is a brain. i have some studies about it, i will stick it here, maybe it can help others

Yeah you can send me pics on FB, good that you and Petra are helping others, raw can be so overwhelming in the beginning and it's scary to see people jump in without a solid background looking into it. The language barrier can be difficult too, but the more you can inform, the more it can be passed around in your area. Yep brain is really high in taurine, I think most organs are, I know tongue contains a lot too. Any darker heavily used meat contains more which is why we recommend feeding variety so much. Some people get stuck on one easy meat like chicken breast and never branch out. I'm glad this forum has so many stickies and studies all over, it's a lot of info but good stuff to have on hand.
