I know (although I just broke my scooper) . It is SO convenient to be able to scoop and flush it. I don't care if it tracks. I have a mini-vac handy for quick clean up. It makes my morning so much easier.

And one more really good thing about WBCL? I just sent them an email complaining about virtually all the coupons only being valid in the US- they sent me one back the next day to get my address, so they can mail me some

I honestly don't know. I don't think I'd trust wood shavings, though, unless they've been specially treated to get rid of the oils in it.

I wouldn't use them. Ferrets like to wipe there butt, and imagine getting wood shavings rubbed against your rear end. Ouch. It could cause severe irritations and possibly respiratory issues if there are oils in them.

So would yesterdays news be a suitable replacement?

Yesterday's news is fine. Wood stove pellets also work.

i have heard that wood shavings cause upper respiratory problems in ferrets.

untreated woods, its the oils. if theyre kiln dried they should be okay but i mean i dont see how it would be comfortable to be on wood shavings

yeah i can just imagine my ferret scooting his butt to clean it like he always does after he poops and getting a splinter up his butt. that would hurt.

That vacuum is a really cool idea. Too bad i already bought a dyson but i went out today and got a cheap dirt devil hand held..so convenient! I've already used it 4x to clean up spilled litter and food. Plus the kit thought it was fun to attack. I can be kinda OCD sometimes. forgot to mention i'm testing out WB right now. I like that its flushable but it does track and holds clumps pretty well. I've been a long time yesterdays news user. Personally i hated using wood stove pellets, the sawdust was a nightmare. I'm planing on getting a small bag of swheat scoop to try next.
