Glad to hear that all is going well - it's good that the vet said she's doing well enough so she does not need to come in. Sounds promising since she's still doing well. Awesome!!!

hi everyone, just to let you all know, i got up this morning and stinky was in the corner of her cage whimpering in pain, i took her strait to the vet, they done a ultrasound and there is in fact a dead baby inside, they have taken her in to remove it and also spay her, they told me to take baby home and keep her warm so she is in a box on a towel with a hot water bottle... i feel so sad a stupid, i should of just followed my gut instinct and took her strait away... im praying that she will be fine and back home with baby within a few hours as im not sure when the baby last fed, its 1.46 in the afternoon here in the uk, the vet said if i have not heard off them by 4pm to phone............. ill keep you all informed,

thanks you, baby sadly doesn't look to good, don't think she will make it the next half hour, iv kept her warm and tried feeding her, but she is just still now and her breathing is not right... i feel a bit mad at the vet for refusing to keep her with mum, dont see why she couldn't of just stayed in the same cage as mum, just need to pray hard that mum pulls through now............

Oh no what would they say if you simply took baby in and insisted she stay with mum until surgery?

They might have been concerned that the stressful environment might have induced her to eat the kit.

or they may have been concerned about the kit picking up something from their. plus mom may not be willing to nurse right now anyway

Is there any kind of formula you can temporarily feed the baby? Like kitten replacer milk or something?

baby died a few hours ago, i had kitten milk and managed to get some down it but soon after it had a feed it died, the vet wants to keep mum in over night, she took nearly 3 hrs to come round from the antithetic, and is still very sleepy... thanks all for you help and concern and i will keep you posted

hi you can give the kit lactol kitten/puppy replacer milk you will get it at any pet store ( pets at home ect ) you can also buy the nursing bottles for kittens ( these work well or even an eyedropper at a push ) as long as milk is at blood temp it will be fine if you can get a couple of feeds into her before mum gets home ( I could scream surely the vet realised a two day old kit wont survive without milk and mum I hope she can hang on until mum returns is there no one in your area who has had kits and would maybe be willing to slip your one kit in with there litter ? for 24 hours while mum recovers ? please let us know how she is doing take care bye for now bev
