It looks awesome, but I'd be nervous about falls from that height. So for me,I would pass.

Some ferrets like my nephews boy Rosco would do well on that, others like my Fenton would probably climb to the top and jump off and get hurt it looks fun but I think in general ferrets have no business in high places.

My milo would definitely take a flying leap from the top of that. Those cat trees are usually a lot taller than they look in the pictures aswell. You could always just not put those 3 tops bits on. I had to do change around my cat tree and build it my own way so that it wasnt too tall for them.
Depends how sensible your ferrets are though. My boys would just jump straight off but my girls are more careful and if they couldn't get down, they'd just stay up there and wait for me to find them.

I think it depends on the ferrets. I know if I added tubes and showed Rolo how to use them he would use the tubes to go up + down rather than jumping. I'm probably going to do this when I eventually have money and pick a cat tree. Hopefully getting a wardrobe tmrw & then my room will be ferret proofed so Rolo can be out 24/7! I don't want to mess it up by then getting a cat tree he can hurt himself on.

I would also worry about the size of those little "cabins". A ferret my pick a corner inside as a potty area and it may be really difficult to clean in there.

My girls are pretty good about heights. I'm thinking that I could leave the tall 3 posts off (so it's only as tall as the top cabin) and that would bring the top heigh down at least a foot, maybe more.
My girls are very good about pottying in the box (it helps that I have blankets all over their room floor) so I'm not worried about the poop issue.

I'm thinking if you are able to attach tubes at a variety of places and show them that they are there, it should be fine. We've got a 5' cat post, and the only one I have to worry about taking the short cut down is Frodo

This cat tree is set up in our local Petco ( or something very like it and 3x the money ) Its Loki's fave thing to play with when we're there. He knows right where it is and pulls (as much as a ferret can anyway) on his leash to go there. I would have totally already bought it but Loki is part flying squirrel monkey and thinks himself super hero indestructible. He's had to potty before and runs off of it to use the floor corner by the cat kibble, then wants back on it while I'm (embarrassingly) cleaning up potty. (Not too worried, I once watched an adult great dane ruin a shelf of dog food LMAO that poor owner!) In our case Loki has never gone to the top platform, he prefers the top cabin to survey the land, like a lord with a fiefdom. ~Kelli edit to add:

That is the cutest pic! Loki is adorable <3
How easy is it to navigate? I was planning on using a lot of tubing because it seems difficult for a ferret to explore.

You guys are making me wanna get one! But Ginny is a flying monkey too lol. Ron notsomuch. Not even sure how high he would climb. He doesn't climb the 3-step step ladder we have, but Ginny loves to climb up it and jump to places, especially if it's near some place interesting she hasn't explored before.

Its not hard to navigate at all, the ramps go to all the hidey places and even a lardbutt jumper could grip the platforms and pull themselves up.
Getting down... it makes me nervous, I'll be honest. Point A Tower to Point B Floor is straight down as the ferret thinks.
Maybe if you made boxes to cover the platforms out of the plastic material people needlepoint on and then superglue them to the tower platforms? They might be sturdy enough to take some digging action and keep flying squirrel monkeys from taking that leap of faith? idk, just an idea that popped up while I was typing this.

I actually like that idea! I'll be using tubes so they can easily get to each spot.
I'm also looking at shorter cat trees, and seeing if I can just buy two shorts ones and put them side by side. Though the small ones seem just as expensive as this one! :S

I've never figured out why they are so pricey. Its cheap plywood and carpet remnants?
Maybe one day I'll get the umph to make my own ferret safe version, right after i get the umph to dust my house most likely. ;D
