And THAT'S why they are so expensive. ;-)

my ferrets have a 7' cat tree. we put it right against the wall and put a pile of blankets at the base while they learned how to climb up and down. I no longer use the blankets for a soft landing because they have learned how to use their claws to climb down instead of flying down!

I like the suggestion about the boxes. I've got something similar set up in the hob room (nothing near as nice as this). I've got 2 banks of cages (only 4 cages but they consist of 8 actual cages put together). The height of the cages is 7 ft. My little acrobatic monkey hobs like to climb up there and then sit and wait for me to save them. They then jump from the top of the cages onto my shoulders. I'm terrified that they will misjudge or miss, or I won't be fast enough to catch them, so I created boxes that sit on top of the cages. This also prevents the hob that sitting in the top cage (namely Mr. Tico) from ripping apart the silly 'binos who are running around on top of his house. There has been one occasion where he's managed to grab a passing 'bino (poor Mr Bacchus) and try and remove his toes. I created a 3" edge around the board, creating a box. I then attached a tube though an opening cut into the side of the box. The guys now can climb up on top of the cages by using the tube (instead of the 'bino brats climbing the cage to the top), and they can get down again too....safer. With the edge they seem less inclined to jumping down. It seems to even keep the high flying 'binos a bit safer. ciao

I'm thinking about heading to a pet store and seeing if they have any on display to see how my fuzz handle one before buying. They've never been on one before

Heather, if you can, can you post a pic of the modifications you made? What material did you use?

I have that exact cat tower Jackie. I zip tied a tube to it so they could get down easier. It works pretty well.. its not quite as big as it looks in the pictures

I got mixed reactions. Some loved it, others ignore it. Most climb it a time or two during playtime. The top tiers make me a little nervous some times. No one has ever fallen from it but they have fallen from the second level play house. The ramp that leads from the top playhouse to the bottom one is a little steeper than the picture looks...So if anyone is in a hurry going down then they tend to fall. You can kinda see it here.

Yeah, mine wouldn't bother using that ramp. That's why i don't use the platforms in the FN's. They ignore the ramp because it's too steep. Maybe a black tube attached to the ramp?
