It seems our local Petland is using a BYB for their ferret supply now. At least I'm assuming that's where they are all from. No tats at all, smaller in size, well handled, no nippiness at all. And I'm quite sure PV doesn't train their baby fuzz that much ;D Although I DON'T like the fact they are using a byb, nor the fact that a good number of them are fancies, these ones must be handled from the time they are tiny, since they are simply affectionate and playful. I've not been nipped or bitten once in the last 3-4 months by them. They accept scruffing calmly, appear to be very healthy, nice fat baby tummies on them ;D , along with trimmed nails, and clean ears- and they genuinely like people! And they are a minimum of 10 weeks before the store gets them in. As much as I dislike to tout any byb, this one seems to be better than the mills by far. Even the staff who are nervous around ferrets don't mind handling these babies from the day they come in the store They had two adorable girls in there yesterday when I went in to pick up some frozen mice- a little hyper DEW, and a silver panda The DEW girl just kept wanting to get down and play, the panda lay along my arm giving my fingers kisses!

This one's in Calgary Alberta, so no. It would have to be a local breeder. I don't think there is much time spent in shipping, since they don't seem at all traumatized. And Jackie? Ferret math NO!!! ;D

I was thinking that too Sherry. When I have handled them, I've never been nipped, and they are very 'happy' (as happy as a petshop ferret can be!)

I think 10 is a good number... How long has it been since you've had a baby?
