I may be wrong but I think I'm seeing clarity at almost half way up the tooth?! That makes the ferret about 6 or 7 yrs of age. One thing to remember about this is that it's not a direct science though it does appear to be fairly accurate (we've used comparisons between ferrets who's ages we're absolutely sure of) Dietary deficiencies will also cause premature aging of the teeth as a raw fed ferret will not show the age rings in the same manner. These variables can make aging a ferret difficult. ciao

That's why I was confused because I couldn't see where the clarity stopped, with Caillou it's obvious but with her I couldn't tell. I'm not upset that they're older, it just means I have less time with them than I thought.

The canine does appear to be suffering clarity about half way. This usually implies about 7 yrs of age. Can't really tell about the rest of the teeth or gums because it's too blurry ciao

Thank you I'll work on more pictures but that's what I saw too. The very tip of his good fang is crystal clear.

I was told he was 6 months, would you say that could be accurate?

From what I can tell I would say 6 mo is accurate. Maybe a little older? I'm not very good at tooth aging, but I've been trying to practice Someone will chime in and give a correct estimate.

Under 18 months is difficult. So 6 months is as good as any. At that age you look at facial structure and body construction (this is even more difficult than teeth because I've seen seniors who've retained their baby looks). I'm going to say under a year....so 6 months is as good as it gets. You will have to rely on the honesty of the person you got the ferret from ciao

Okay great, thank you Sherry! I was thinking Coco was more older because his teeth are a little bad.

All of my ferrets are rescues, except one, so I don't really know their true ages. I'm not even sure about the one I bought, Snowy, because they didn't actually tell me his age. So I'm curious what you think Snowy. The vet said he looks around 5 months old. Nestle. I really don't know her age. I had been guessing around 10 or 11 months, but now I think she's older Yogi. I was told he's about 3 years old when I got him 2 years ago, so he'd be around 5 now Bentley is supposed to be around 5. He has one bad canine, but it doesn't seem to hurt him Hershey I think is around 5 too (as a sidenote, he used to bite me and make me bleed whenever I touched him. Now I can do this and he doesn't care) And lastly, Penny. She is supposedly around 4 and a half years old Sorry for all of the pictures. I'm just really curious to know their ages. And I wasn't sure what pictures were best to use
